Today, LA's playboy mayor, Antonio Villaraigosa, was back in the spotlight as he officially re-opened the park around City Hall. In case you have forgotten, it had been closed for seven months since the Occupy live-in that all but destroyed it. Now, after 7 months of repairs at a tune of $1,000,000, Villaraigosa re-opened it amid all kinds of pomp and circumstance. (Oh yes. There will still be a chain-link fence around it for a few more months as sort of a "transition period" (translation: until the occupiers forget about it).

Not being allowed to participate in the celebration were some of the ex-occupiers, who were kept at bay. They were heard shouting off in the distance, "Whose park? Our park!"
Last year, it was their park.
