Today, Eric Holder is testifying before the Senate defending his choice of two US Attorneys to investigate White House security leaks. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) has taken the opportunity to call on Holder to resign. Holder, of course, says he will not resign.

Unfortunately, it is going to take Democrat involvement to get Holder to step down. Thus far, they have his back, just as President Obama has his back, and just as Holder has Obama's back. How sad is it that an entire party can stand by and watch this corruption continue within the Department of Justice?
As we speak, Darrell Issa is moving ahead with a contempt vote in the House. It is reported today that Holder is trying to cut a deal with Speaker John Boehner. Here is hoping that Boehner stands firm.
The shame here is also the fact that national security of the United States is at issue, with the leaks effecting our allies. What foreign nation is going to cooperate with the U.S. if highly secret information falls into the hands of the New York Times, for all the world to see. A Pakistani doctor who outed UBL, is in jail for 33 years due to a leak from the White House administration. The computer virus that took out nuke facilities in Iran was leaked, which also implicated Israel. Who will trust Obama to keep a secret? The leakers need to go to jail for a long time.

Why is it that I feel like I'm reliving history. First the riots of the 60's and now the scandals of the 70's.
ReplyDeleteWe are reliving Watergate.
In your dreams, Findalis. You were a liberal back then. You want to recapture past glory... life doesn't work like that.
