Last night, I attended a speaking event hosted by Pam Geller and Robert Spencer, which was entitled, A Summer Evening for Human Rights" highlighting the fact that apostasy from Islam is penalized by death. Today, Geller was scheduled to speak on behalf of the Zionist Organization of America at the Jewish Federation of America. Geller's blog, Atlas Shrugs, is reporting today that the Jewish Federation has cancelled the event-obviously due to Muslim intimidation. I understand there is a protest in front of the Federation Hqs as I write this.
I will update this when I get more information.
It appears that the Jewish Federation is the group that cancelled the presentation, hours before the beginning of the event. It is the Jewish Federation that is at fault here. To claim that there are security issues is lame, at best. The presentation should have been allowed. If Islamist groups would disrupt the presentation and violate the rights of free speech, then our U.S. Constitutional laws would cover the possible issue. But, the fact that the UCI/Oren disruption landed the MB inspired Muslim Student Union, Irvine 11 to be prosecuted and found guilty of a crime, would slow the Islamists, due to bad publicity. So, the event should have gone on.
