Pedro Espinoza Trial in L.A.

Jamiel Shaw Jr.-victim                                      Jamiel's parents

Pedro Espinoza goes on trial this week in Los Angeles for the cold-blooded murder of Jamiel Shaw Jr, which occurred in 2008 one day after Espinoza, who was an illegal alien gang member, was released from LA County Jail without being turned over to ICE for deportation.

This, of course, is a classic example of how a sanctuary city works. Even gang-bangers get protected from ICE in LA, as in San Francisco, which had a similar murder within the same general time frame.

The victim , Jamiel Shaw Jr, was a high school football star with no gang affiliation. His mother was serving in the US Military in Iraq when the killing occurred.

In response, mayoral candidate Walter Moore attempted to get the city to pass "Jamiel's Law", which would have corrected this shameful policy of protecting illegal alien criminals from ICE. Thanks to LA City Council member Jack Weiss, the bill disappeared into the round file.

In addition, an LA judge threw out the Shaws' wrongful death lawsuit against Lee Baca's LA Sheriff's Department for not turning Espinoza over to ICE.

This is how it works in a city run by Antonio Villaraigosa, his stooge police chief Charles Beck, and his stooge sheriff, Lee Baca. Ordinary tax-paying residents get no protection. The only people who count are illegal aliens and public employees. The rest are only there to pay taxes and fees to support this madness.

  2. Al Sharpton is in his MSNBC studio in NY and Jesse Jackson is home in Chicago.

  3. To the extent possible, the law enforcement authorities follow the lead by Eric Holder's Justice Department ... that being primarily that there will be no black defendants.
