Toulouse Killer Cornered in Standoff With Police

As I write this, we learn that the French police have located their suspect in Toulouse. Mohamed Merah, a Frenchman of Algerian descent, with apparent links to Al Qaida, is cornered in an apartment building near the shooting site by hundreds of police who are trying to convince him to surrender. Fox News has the update.

Below from Le Figaro is a press conference by the French prosecutor reporting on statements made by Merah as to his associations (Al-Qaida), travels (Waziristan) and motive (revenge for the killing of Palestinians in Gaza). Merah also indicated he was planning to carry out two more killings of French police officials.

  1. Hmmmm, "...Mohamed Merah, a Frenchman of Algerian descent..." another Amish, inexplicably gone nuts? Completely acting alone and without any cause or conviction? We are left to speculate.

The French still refuse to call the Muslim fanatics in their midst what they are. We aren't a whole lot better here, but the French still lead in obsequious cowardice.

Their tolerance to the violent "youths", as they call them, has brought them this and they will have many returns of violence from this class.

I've written before on this site that the next generation of Frenchmen will look and be more like Arafat than DeGalle. France, once a great and mighty nation, is already past redemtion.

unlike the children this fanatic killed, he got to grow up and have fun with his friends. I'm glad he is dead.
