Nancy Pelosi as a Dumb Blonde

Back in the days before Nancy Pelosi became a congresswoman and a brunette, she was a blonde speaking with a southern accent. (She was originally from Maryland, obviously southern Maryland. Y'all didn't know that did y'all?)

"Uhhhh.......yeaaaah."

Well, anyway, here is a young Nancy Pelosi appearing on that show called, "Are you smarter than a 5th grader?"

Now fast forward to last week as Nancy Pelosi, having lost her blonde hair and southern accent, talks with Jane Mayer about class warfare.

The question still begs; is Nancy Pelosi smarter than a 5th grader?

(Can't make this stuff up, folks.)

  1. Why did anyone need to make it up? And what does any of it matter anyway?

Here is an alternate spin: After decades as a good Catholic stay-at-home mother raising five gainfully employed productive members of society to adulthood, Nancy Pelosi stepped out into the world, learned a lot she didn't have time to learn while putting her kids first, and after several years of apprenticeship in politics, was elected to congress by the people of her district.

Didn't have to change any facts, just the spin. (And I don't even like Nancy Pelosi. I remember when she was new in congress, and Clinton was reneging on his campaign promises, trying to push George Bush's NAFTA bill through congress. The laborer's union put out a flyer "Nancy is sitting on the fence..." She did vote for NAFTA. Miggie probably appreciated that, but did he give HER or Bill any credit?
    Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

  2. Siarlys,

You have provided a perfect segue from my post.

  3. Since the blonde's IQ and communication skills were about the same as Nancy Pelosi, they could very well be one and the same person.

The sad thing is how much Nancy has aged in the last few years. That show didn't start until 2007.

You aren't pulling a fast one, are you, Gary? I can see how one reminded you of the other, but still ... you have to present it in a way that protects any one so stupid as to immediately rush to defend her.

  5. I believe you Gary!

(Shall we put that on a bumper sticker, like the one about Anita Hill?)

  6. Gary,
What's your source? Wikipedia says, "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader? is a television game show format based on asking grade-school level questions to adults, hosted by Jeff Foxworthy. This television show was first broadcast on the Fox Broadcasting Company network as a special in the United States and southern Canada on February 27, 2007, and it grew to be popular enough that a half-hour-long syndicated TV series was developed by the owners."

I'm sure you'll admit that Nancy Peolsi has more than 25 years on that blonde, not just four. So how do you reconcile the fact that the show is only four years old and a young Nancy Pelosi would have been many (to state it generously) years younger to actually be that young woman? Nancy Pelosi (Born in 1940) is now 73 years old so that girl on the show would have to have been around 69 ... I can't see how it could have been actually Nancy Pelosi, no matter how much they sound like the same person.

I claim my free ball point pen (or a beer) for the prize this month for whoever catches a factual error on this blog site.

  8. Gary,
"ARe you impersonating Siarlys or what?"

There isn't anything more hurtful you could have written. I thought I just asked for your source and gave my evidence. I must have written something stupid and off point and I don't know what it could be.

I'm going to bed now and pulling the covers over my head until I recover. How could you even put us in the same sentence? That's cruel.

If you care at all for your fellow human being, you could help me by giving me some explanation.

  9. Miggie,

Rather than give you some complicated explanation filled with non sequitirs and straw men like the ancient Persians or the Seljuks, I refer you to virtually any video of Pelosi speaking. That is all the proof you need. And she is not a direct descendant of Katherine the Great.

  10. Please spare me from those obscure, convoluted, and ultimately irrelevant questionable factoids, I beg you.

I completely agree that Nancy Pelosi is a walking ideologue who has never expressed a thought that withstands any rational critique. The blonde and her share the same ignorance of the world and how it works and even less about what leads to what. ("We'll have to pass the bill so you can see what's in it.")

My ONLY point is that she is not THAT dumb blond on that show. Nancy Pelosi is too old. That TV show began only four years ago so they can't be the same person. That's the simple math, no matter how much Botox is used to counter the effects of aging.

Both of them may channel the say nonsense but if you took a DNA test, you would see that they are not the same person.

  11. What Gary is trying to say Miggie, is that he was indulging in parody and sarcasm, and he took us all in. Thanks for the detailed research. If it is any comfort, I appreciate it -- even if Gary disdains to give it a direct response. I'm a little disappointed that in almost the same breath, you discount the relevance of facts (or factoids as you call them) to arriving at the truth.
