Fast and Furious: Why a Special Prosecutor is Needed
Eric Holder
"Guns? What guns? What's a gun?"
Attorney General Eric Holder, as he continues to deny prior knowledge of Fast and Furious, insists that the investigation he has called for within the Justice Department is the proper way to proceed. It is obvious on the face of it that this is an absurd idea.
First of all, Eric Holder is the head of the Justice Department. How can he be fully investigated by his subordinates? The office that he has referred Fast and Furious to is the DOJ Office of the Inspector General (OIG).

The OIG is currently being run by Cynthia Schnedar (acting).

And just who is Cynthia Schnedar? The below article by Ronald Kolb dated October 7, 2011 in American Thinker tells us her background, which includes a years-long association with Holder and her own questionable actions in the Fast and Furious scandal when she inexplicably released secretly-taped conversations to individuals in the government (US Attorney's Office of Phoenix) who have been implicated, and who are, thus, under investigation. The article also links to another article by CBS reporter Sharyl Attkisson regarding the content of the taped conversation between a gun store owner and ATF agent.

Does anyone seriously believe that Schnedar and the DOJ OIG will conduct a real investigation? Any thought that OIG can be truly independent here is laughable. Keep in mind that this scandal is likely not only to incriminate the attorney general himself, but will likely also lead into the White House and possibly even right up to the Oval Office.
This case screams for a special prosecutor.
With every day that passes, this Fast and Furious caper becomes more and more smelly. This stink appears to eminate from the Oval Office and travels throughout the DoJ and ATF. Holder is as currupt as one can get and will go down, when the Congress gets real serious and appoints a Special Prosecuter that goes after everyone who has there hand in the arming of terrorists in Mexico, with a result in the death of two Americans and countless Mexican citizens.
ReplyDeleteObama, who has just stopped the flow of Solyndra papers to Congress and put a stop to handing out the guest list to the White House, will do everything to obstruct this investigation. He will go down as well.

You indulged in noun substitution. The closing sentence should have read:
ReplyDelete"Gary Fouse screams for a special prosecutor."
