OC Human Relations Commission 2010 "Hate Crime Report"

I guess Rusty Kennedy, the empty-suit boss of the Orange County Human Relations Commission has earned his 6-figure salary dore another year and the $300,000 annual budget bestowed upon this politically correct white elephant. The OCHRC has just issued its 2010 hate crime statistics report, chock full of colored lines, bars, graphs, and more filler than a bad sausage. There are a total of 56-yes, 56 incidents reported as hate crimes.

So out of 56 crimes, 18 were filed for prosecution (12 closed, whatever that means). Well, how much information do you want in an 8-page report? Of course, the disruption of Israeli ambassador Michael Oren's speech, which resulted in 11 arrests was not included.

Since there were only 56 incidents, maybe next year, Rusty can give a short summary of each incident, so we can have a clearer understanding of what these incidents reported were all about.

And how about that statement by California Attorney General Kamala Harris? She was previously the DA in San Francisco, where she refused to seek the death penalty for any murderers-including the worst of the worst or allow cops to work with ICE against illegal alien gang members. While campaigning for AG, her big issue was going after those "corporate polluters". I'm sure her definition of hate crimes also depends on who the perps and victims are.

Great report, Rusty. Your six-figure check is in the mail.

  1. I'll do the report for $10,000 flat. That would save taxpayers $290,000 a year. I might not do so many colored charts and graphs though. I sort of expect people who read reports to be familiar with basic arithmetic.

  2. out of a population of 3,010,000, OC had a grand total of 56 hate crimes; approximately 6 hate crimes per 300,000 persons, but that is not an accurate picture. Out of these 56 crimes only 21 were classified as assaults, 32 were mean words spoken or written. In essence, only 2 hate crimes per 300,000 persons. Do these numbers justify tax dollar($300,000) support of rusty kennedy's salary and his commission?

  3. Why does rusty kennedy charge the taxpayer $40,000 per hate crime in the OC? The following is a summary of hate cases handled by the OC District Attorney
    • 20 cases were referred to the district attorney’s office
    • 11 referred cases were rejected for filing
    • 3 cases referred as hate crimes were charged
as other than hate crime cases
    • 6 cases were filed as hate crimes
    - 7 resulted in guilty pleas (0 trial verdicts)
    - 2 resulted in non-bias motivated crime conviction
    - 1 resulted in a finding of not guilty
If I’m correct, then out of the 56 hate crimes only 20 had enough substance to make it smell like a hate crime and thus referred to the OC district attorney. Out of this 20 only 7 resulted in guilty pleas and 17 were found not to be hate crime motivated. Rusty Kennedy numbers are misleading; legally, only 7 hate crimes out of a population of 3,010,000. Even if I give benefit of a doubt and increase his 7 to 10, these numbers equate to 1 hate crime per 300,000. This does not look like Rusty boy’s favorite metaphor of “only the tip of the ice berg” statistics to justify continued tax dollar funding of the OCHRC.
$300,000 a year to combat 7 hate crimes. We, the people, pay the OCHRC over $40,000 per hate crime per year.
