On July 7, I posted a story about LA City Councilwoman Janice Hahn (D), who was running in a special election to fill the US House seat being vacated by Jane Harman. Unfortunately for Hahn, the city was buzzing over the scandal about her gang prevention project in which gang members were put on the payroll to fight ......gang activity. Stories were abounding on gang bangers working for Hahn and her subsidiary foundations who were getting busted for.....gang activity, robberies, assaults, and all kinds of crime.

Can't make this stuff up, folks.
Well, it was all for certain that Hahn would be defeated by her opponent, some guy named Craig Huie (R) for that seat from the South Bay area to Congress, right?
Wrong.
This past Tuesday, Hahn won rather handily 55% to 45%.
That means that LA's loss will be the country's gain.
Well, that's the difference between Gary Fouse's world and the real world. Voters have more important things to look at than whether an unknown and unappealing challenger can manage to whip up a scandal of sorts. Not enough lemmings in this district to put the Republican over the top.
ReplyDeleteCongress reps are there to vote on legislation, not to stand on a pedestal and tell us what a wonderful life they have led. The accusations are dubious, but even if true, I'd rather have someone who will vote my way on legislation, who exercised poor judgement administering a program, than someone who hasn't stuck their neck out on much, and will vote in ways I disapprove of when legislation comes up.
Craig Huey was an awful candidate.
ReplyDeleteFirst off Mr. Huey did not even live in the district that he wanted to be elected to represent (CA-36th congressional district). Although legal it is immoral for a politician to do this, so it is fair to say that Craig Huey is worse than a carpetbagger.
Secondly Mr. Huey is a not a true fiscal conservative. He is willing to lower taxes and to cut spending for almost all domestic issues but supports giving away billions of dollars of American tax dollars to Israel each and every year.
When you run as a Zionist tea-bagger in a Democratic district don't expect much support from true, blue Americans.
As the say in Germany, "Mox Nix".
ReplyDeleteThat is Fousespeak for "I can't say anything of substance to rehabilitate Huey's miserable reputation."
ReplyDeleteI know nothing about Craig Huey, apparently you have followed him quite closely from back there in Milwaukee. I know he didn't set up a gang program using gang members as counselors before they eventually got busted and went back to jail. How many thousands of dollars went into that cesspool?
ReplyDeleteI know he ran for congress with his primary point being "my opponent might have run a bad program if you believe all the punks who said so," RATHER THAN telling voters in his district how he would vote on critical legislation if they elect him to represent them.
ReplyDeleteAnd I know that Gary Fouse, who now says he knows nothing about the man, bought into his campaign.
