More Photos, Weiner Goes For Treatment as Pelosi and Wasserman-Schultz Demand Resignation
Yesterday, Anthony Weiner did what all embarrassed celebrities do-run off to some treatment program. Today, we wake up to learn that this guy was taking pictures of himself in various stages of undress in the Capitol gym with his Blackberry, I-pod, or whatever important people carry around with them (See TMZ if you are interested. A couple are pretty, uh bad.) He insists he will not resign while asking for a leave of absence.

"Ah wunnerful ah wunnerful ah"
Here is how Weiner's congressional web page is "announcing" the news:

Meanwhile, Nancy Pelosi has finally figured out that she should call for Weiner to resign, which she has now done (sort of; something about getting treatment without the pressures of Congress).
As for DNC Chair, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, when asked for a comment......
...also said that Weiner should resign-the first sensible thing she has said since taking up her new post.
(OK. Just kidding. Save your cards and letters. Actually, she DID call for Weiner to resign. )
Meanwhile, somewhere in New York, ex-Republican congressman Chris Lee, follows the news at home on his TV and thinks what might have been.
"Why the Hell did I resign?"
It is a certain tip off that there are more photos when a liar, like Weiner, says there are no more photos.
ReplyDeleteWhat conceivable use does he see for the photos when he takes them?
This isn't some kind of spur of the moment indiscretion. What this preparation itself means, I leave to a trained psychologist to comment. For laymen, it is enough to observe it is off the wall ... weird.
In a criminal case, when the prosecution can show the defendant buying the duct tape, the handcuffs, and the gun, it is hard for the defense to maintain that murder was some spur of the moment madness.
It is an embarrassment to the Democratic Party that the leadership waited so long before they called for his resignation. The problem was obvious as soon as the question of his guilt was over.
.
Poor Gary... Weiner resigns and he's off on vacation. By the time he gets back, it will be such OLD news that his triumphant commentary will be irrelevant... what a bad time to run off to a beer fest.
ReplyDelete(Prediction: Gary would rather be at the beer fest. He wouldn't miss it just to get in one more on Weiner.)
I just received an email funny from Joe Bob Briggs, which puts the whole thing in perspective:
"...after hearing for two weeks about what a disgusting party pig this guy is, we end up with much less than can be viewed at, say, any beach in Croatia, where the universal affinity for tight Spandex crotch-monster Speedo-kinis should qualify the Adriatic as a region where every male sunbather needs to be sentence to the Nancy Pelosi Modesty Reformatory."
Alternately, "you really don't need to look any further than Fire Island, which is a mere seven or eight miles down the coast of Long Island from Anthony Weiner's Congressional district in Brooklyn... Weiner's dangle, in context, is mundane."
