Charles Rangel Rides to Weiner's Defense

I figured that headline would get you.

Yes, Weiner-watchers, none other than that paragon of virtue, Charles Rangel, has told the media that Anthony Weiner can still be an effective legislator if only the media leave him alone

Hey Charlie! What are the rest of us, you know, citizens, constituents, tax-payers and ordinary Americans-chopped liver? Doesn't our opinion count?

I would have felt better if someone with more credibility had said that Weiner was a wonderful congressman and should not resign. Somebody like Barbara Walters......
...which is exactly what she said this week on "The View".

And of course, House Minority Leader, Nancy Pelosi, when asked by reporters whether Weiner should go, said that that was someone else's department, like the voters or something.

The real capper is Weiner apologizing to Bill Clinton for his inappropriate behavior.

Meanwhile, just today, we are hearing that cops in New Castle, Delaware are interviewing a 17-year-old schoolgirl about messages she got from Weiner. Hopefully, they were limited to doing well in school.

So what will tomorrow bring, Weiner-watchers? Will the mainstream media catch up with Breitbart, Opie and Anthony on this story?

Tune in tomorrow for the next episode of As the Worm Turns.

  1. When it comes to a congressman Gary, you'll have to leave it up to his constituents. I object to Michelle Bachmann, you adore her, but neither one of us gets to vote on whether she stays in congress or not. Ditto for Rangel and Weiner.

  2. It is a shame that Congress doesn't have the same provision that the armed services has regarding booting someone out for "conduct unbecoming."

This purulent, juvenile, sicko not only is a Representative of the United States, he also votes! This weirdo is expected to have the judgement to cast a vote on wars, economic policy, and social issues!

Of course the Lefties of the world will claim "no big deal" or let the constituent groups (he paid off) decide. Actually, it is kind of surprising to me that more of them have not rushed to his defense ... that is the level of low regard I have of them. It is not a surprise to me that more of the Democrats have not demanded his resignation. Most are hunkering down with a safe, "No comment."

Lowlifes of the world, UNITE! There is a home for you in the Democratic Party.... nothing you do can be bad enough, shameful enough, embarrassing entough to warrant disapproval from the leadership ... just as long as you continue to spout and vote the party line.

  3. Officers in the armed forces are not elected by a constituency. It's a top down organization.

There WAS, however, a time when regiments elected their own officers. Under that regimen, when a popular officer was removed by a general officers for "conduct unbecoming" it could provoke something close to mutiny by the rank and file. There was a hot debate between the governor of Georgia and the Confederate government about whether a Georgia regiment should elect its own replacement for a colonel killed in action, or whether the general in command could appoint one.

(States rights doesn't win wars, as the confederates learned to their cost).
