John Edwards to be Indicted for "Jerkery"?

John Edwards-2008 Fousesquawk "Jerk of the Year" award winner

Reports are circulating that John Edwards, the 2008 Fousesquawk "Jerk of the Year", is about to be indicted by the US Justice Department. Apparently, it takes Eric Holder longer to decide on whether someone should be prosecuted than doing the investigation.

At any rate, if Edwards is indicted, it all goes back to the little matter that led to his Golden Penguin award in the first place. His affair with the ditty Rielle Hunter, the resultant baby, and the cover-up. None of that is illegal, of course, but the investigation revolves around the use of public money and campaign contributions to cover it up. That requires a ton of dough as they used to say in the gangster movies, and, presumably, the Feds have made their case.

The bad news for the rest of us is that we have to see this smarmy guy's face on TV for the next year or so as he proclaims his innocence. This guy has lied each step of the way until each lie is peeled off like layers of the proverbial onion. Then he lies about the next point-until that is revealed as a lie.

And this guy almost became our president-and would have been chosen for attorney general had not this little story come to light. There is something desperately wrong that we keep coming up with creeps like John Edwards, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bill Clinton,  and all the others who bring disgrace upon whatever office they happen to hold.

  1. Yeah, them and Newt Gingrich, and Larry Craig... hey, how come all of them are men? That seems to be the common denominator.

As far as having to see Edwards's face on TV over and over, this hurts me more than it does you.
