CAIR and Ghaddafi

Council on American-Islamic Relations executive director Nihad Awad wrote a letter to Muammar al-Qaddafi in 2009 asking him for funding for a new project
CAIR CEO Nihad Awad

"I am pleased to send to Your Excellency in my name most solemn assurances of thanks and appreciation for the efforts you exert in the service of Islam, Muslims and all mankind through your initiative to teach Islam, spread the culture of Islam, and solve disputes, for which you are known internationally."

Congressman Frank Wolf (R-VA) is condemning the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) for their connections to Muammar Ghaddafi. Fox has the report.

No comment as yet on the CAIR website.

And it that isn't enough, Steven Emerson has just written this about Awad on Frank Gaffney's Family Security Matters website:

  1. Shouldn't the government be condemning itself then, since they've had official diplomatic relations with Libya since W. re-established them during his presidency?

  2. Anonymous,

The govt (whoever it was at the time) should have blown Ghaddafi to bits when we learned he was behind PA 103. This diplomatic footsie we played with him was a joke. Both Bush and Obama are guilty)

  3. A pox on both their houses.

(That is a reference to the original article, i.e., to CAIR and Qadaffi).

As to Bush, he has adhered to his observation "President Obama deserves my silence" most scrupulously, so I will say nothing further about him. As for President Obama, I was pleased to receive a 2012 bumper sticker this week, and have already affixed it to my car, next to the intact 2008 sticker already there. FORWARD!

  4. Yeah, right. I'm watching Obama on TV now. Doesn't look like we're going forward.

  5. Maybe you should take those curvy mirrors out of your living room.

  6. Siarlys,

When I watch the news about what's happening to this country under Obama, I feel like I am in the amusement park house of curvy mirrors.

  7. You ARE Gary, but the mirrors are obscuring YOUR VISION, not the condition of the country.

More and more, I regret sitting out the 2000 election, because Bill Clinton had a process in place to start paying down the national debt, which Al Gore would have continued if he did nothing else right, and the Republican establishment ruined it. Now they want to blame Obama because he hasn't made their mess go away.
