Arrests Made in Itamar Slaughter

(Hat tip to Pro-Israel Bay Bloggers)

Pro-Israel Bay Bloggers has the story on the arrests of two main suspects in the recent murder of five members of the Fogel family in the West Bank settlement of Itamar.

The below YNet report has photos of the two arrestees.

Predictably, the International Solidarity Movement is complaining about how the Israelis are allegedly treating the poor suspects.

"The International Solidarity movement, acting again in their capacity as shields for terror, had earlier issued a press release calling the treatment of members of the Awad family abusive. Julia Awad apparently was "fed food she described as fit for animals, ... and marched to the toilet furthest from her cell". Torture, Israeli style."

Mein Gott! I wonder if these two animals made their five victims including a pre-teen, a toddler and a three- month-old infant march to the toilet furthest from their bedrooms before their throats were slashed. Maybe the next University of California Olive Tree Initiative group can ask the dear lads about their treatment when they make their next trek to the West Bank to meet with the ISM.

"Fed food fit for animals"?

Makes sense to me.

  1. Gary your blood libel against OTI is disgusting. Shows just about how much you have going on in your real life (or lack there-of)

  2. They don't have the death penalty in Israel except for cases of genocide. Eichmann was executed under this exception. I think he was the only one executed under this law.

I wonder how elastic that term will be in this case.

  3. "Blood libel?" Really.

You should hope you have as full a life as I have had.

  4. Anonymous,

Blood Libel you say! OTI is one of the most misguided organizations that can be imagined. Let's see, meeting with Hamas, a terrorist organization is a good thing so we all can understand their need to murder Jews. I think not. This same is true for the Palestinian Authority (PA), which has denied the right of Israel to exist as a Jewish state and extoles anti-Semitic rhetoric and murder. Their incitement is one of the prime causes for the Palestinian murders of the Fogel family.
This PA incitement is well documented:

The day before the slaughter, Sabri Saidam, an advisor to Abbas, stated that weapons must be turned towards the "main enemy" as he praised a blood thirsty terrorist.
On march 6th, the Al Hayat Al Jadida newspaper advertised the naming of a youth tournament for 19 year olds (the age of one of the murders) in the memory of "shahida".
One week before the the Fogel attack, Abbas held a ceremony at the Deheisheh neighborhood of Bethlehem, honoring homegrown terroists.
On February 9th, The official PA TV extoled "Women as Role Models" and Dalal Mugrrabi as an example.
Two months prior to the Fogel murder, the PA Chairman and Fatah leader Mahmoud Abbas awarded $2,000 to a family of a terrorist who attacked and attempted to murder IDF soldiers.
On January 2nd, the Al Hayat Al Jadida newspaper reported a speech by a Fatah operative on the support of terrorism.
On June 21, 2010, a children's program was broadcast over PA TV teaching that Jews are you enemy.
Of course there is a lot more, but not enough space here. So what is to be learned from the OTI excursions into the West Bank? We already know, don't we, Anonymous. The message is not peace.

  5. The Israelis are working on that now. The ISM will start complaining that these 2 creatures are only getting family visits 4 times a week, basic cable in their cells, and not enough college classes.

  6. I note that Anonymous didn't even express any cheer that the two butchers had been captured, which was the main point of the posting.

  7. Assuming those arrested are the guilty parties, by and large it is a good thing they were caught. However, it is entirely understandable that blood relatives are disbelieving, and that they rally around their kin. That your mother supports you is not grounds for acquittal or even much leniency, but one expects that of mothers.

I'm not sure that "blood libel" is an entirely accurate charge, but the facts and assertions of fact compiled by Squid do not refute it. One can be guilty of misjudgement, poor taste, meeting with proscribed organizations, even of treason, and not be guilty AS A DEFINED GROUP of the blood of anyone.

Blood libel refers, e.g., to the Roman Catholic article of faith that "The Jews" are guilty of the blood of Christ. (Cf. "His blood be upon us and upon our children," probably a contrived story concocted by gentile Christians trying to accommodate themselves into the good graces of the Roman rulers). It is an extreme form of guilt by association.

I would certainly agree that OTI does not have the blood of the murdered family on its hands. If Gary meant to say that it did, as an organization, therefore imputed to each and every member, volunteer, participant in any tour, and donor, then Anonymous would be correct that Gary perpetrated a "blood libel."

I would definitely favor any prisoner locked up for five years or more having access to college classes. Anyone who has ever worked in the prison industry (I haven't, but I've talked to many who have) understands that keeping people occupied preserves a modicum of peace, and even makes life easier for the guards. Naturally, correspondence courses from Jihad International Online University are likely to be denied to prisoners, as a matter of institutional security, good order, and interference with the rehabilitative mission of the prison system.

  8. I don't agree with usage of the term "blood libel", but Squid's refutations are sub-intellectual at best.

  9. Notice when people do not have the facts on their side --- they resort to personal attacks --- anon attacks Gary and Matan attacks Squid as a "sub-intellectual"
really!!! I suppose they believe that Duwaik was a "substitute teacher" for the day in the West Bank and that curious George is cool. The facts are really inconvenient.
    Keep up personal attacks.
It makes it so much easier to
    Identify fact from fiction.
