Robert Gibbs Is Leaving-Say it Ain't So
Sad news today. White House spokesman and professional comedian Robert Gibbs has announced that he is stepping down at the end of the month.
He is going to go on the lecture tour on behalf of President Obama, tell audiences what a great job the president is doing, make them all laugh and rake in lots of speaking fees.
What else does a former political hack have to do once he leaves government service?
Hopefully, Gibbs is just as humorous in writing as he is speaking because it is a foregone conclusion the requisite book will also be coming out. What else does a former political hack have to do once he leaves government service? ( I know. I already said that.) Well, on second thought, he could always get a job on MSNBC. Surely he will be a frequent guest commentator. Maybe he can regale Chris Matthews with bedtime stories of what it is like to be right next to Barack Obama 24-7.
"I don't think that's funny."
I figure Sean Hannity must be in tears today. For the last 2 years, he has been begging the White House not to fire Gibbs. I too will be sad to see Gibbs go. The man was a laugh a minute as wel las a walking sound bite. I am going to miss him. Probably, I will have to retire my jester images.
And new Speaker of the House John Boehner is also sad just when he should be happy.
Well anyway. I am sure we will all get over it and move on. After all, his replacement also figures to be a buffoon in one respect or another and will surely give us lots of material to write about.
