Hat tip to Creeping Sharia
See what happened at a KFC in Sydney, Australia last month when a customer asked for bacon.
According to the report, the employee was suspended. No word on what happened to the customer.
On the other hand, last Thursday, the UC-Irvine Extension was preparing for its new quarter of ESL. I was in the cafeteria in line for a pasta plate. In front of me was a young Arab guy who was obviously one of our new students. He was quite lost and obviously had very limited English ability. As he was going over the selection of sauces, he was attempting to ask the server, a Hispanic, if any of the sauces had pork. The poor server could not understand what the student was trying to say. I finally picked up on it after about the third time I heard him repeat his question. I explained what the student was trying to say, at which time, he explained that none of the sauces had any pork. The young man turned to me smiling and said, "Thank you" with a look of relief on his face.
It doesn't always have to end in bad feelings.
