Another Dupnik Stump Speech on MSNBC
Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik has taken more time off from his law enforcement duties to continue his talking points tour this time with MSNBC host Chris Matthews. Instead of discussing the shooter of Gabrielle Giffords, the topic of conversation was Rush Limbaugh, Sarah Palin, talk radio and all that important stuff, you know?
Meanwhile, Congress is jumping in with all kinds of nutty ideas. Louise Slaughter (D-NY) wants the FCC to increase its policing of the airwaves. (Perhaps, she should legally change her name.)
Robert Brady (D-PA) wants to pass a bill that would outlaw any speech or imagery that "could be interpreted" as threats to members of Congress. James Clyburn (D-0SC) says we need to "rethink the parameters of free speech" and put in place "standards to ensure balanced media coverage". Perhaps the most insane idea comes from Chellie Pingree (D-ME) who objects to the wording in the "Repeal the 'Job-Killing' Healthcare Law Act".
Can you see the nuttery at work here, folks? These are the "solutions" that the Democrats are coming up with. The next "solution" will be to rename football's "Shotgun Formation".
"The Warriors line up in the shotgun formation with four wide receivers spread out. That's a lot of explosive weapons on the field....."
"Hey! What happened? We lost the sound!"
"FCC."
How come nobody's blaming George Orwell?
ReplyDeleteNo, we do not need to "rethink the parameters of free speech." That was wrong when George W. Bush said it in response to the web site "gwbush.com" circa 1999-2000, it was wrong when Republicans said John Kerry "really crossed the line" by calling for "regime change at home," it would have been wrong if anyone had objected to Gov. Dewey calling the incumbent president "that tired old man" during a war time election (nobody did), and it's wrong when Democrats in congress say it now.
ReplyDeleteI'm surprise the left isn't blaming George W. Bush. Maybe next time.
ReplyDeleteLeft? What left? The people you keep referring to as "the left" have never worked at a proletarian job in their comfy little lives.
