The Zionist Organization of America has weighed in on the flap over Glenn Beck's criticism of George Soros.

As I have said many times before, if you don't know who George Soros is, you need to educate yourselves. This scoundrel is the financial source behind every far-left venture that is harmful to our country.
Very sad Gary. A handful of ad hominem adjectives and invective hardly educates anyone about anything.
ReplyDeleteBy the rules of capitalism, George Soros made his money, fair and square, and he is entitled to spend it any way he chose.
I would prefer an economic system where money could not be made in that manner, but then, if you question the way he made his money you are a "socialist" aren't you?
I might approve of some of his donations, and not of others, but since I have no opportunity to influence his decisions, I don't much care. Attributing to one individual the capacity to influence an entire political trend borders on paranoia.
I don't like the way T. Boone Pickens bankrolled the Swift Vote Beterans, but I hardly think his money tipped the 2004 election. That was Kerry's race to lose, and he threw it away. Your rhetoric about Soros is not much different than Kerry's camp blaming Pickens for the way he spent his money.
It is very sad, Siarlys, Soros made his fortune as a currency speculator by bringing about the collapse of the British pound. He also avoids taxes by keeping his money in a Curacao account.
ReplyDeleteVery sad indeed.
Typical captialist. I'm surprised a Kalifornia Konservative would object to making money that way. Incidentally, I hear the pound sterling is still in circulation, and legal tender in Great Britain.
ReplyDeleteAdmit it, you just don't like the way he spends his money. Sometimes I don't either, but its his money. To paraphrase what S.I. Hayakawa said about the Panama canal, he stole it fair and square.
