More Silly Quotes From Keith Olbermann
This week, MSNBC's Keith Olbermann tried to put a witty face on in discussing his "suspension" by MSNBC over his political contributions. All a big joke, you might say. Then Keith screwed up. Last night, He brought in Howard Kurtz and some other talking head to comment on what he did and was it proper for a journalist, analyst, commentator to contribute to a politician (Olbermann an analyst?).
Kurtz told it to him straight. It was not proper. You screwed up, Keith. It goes to your credibility, and besides, you had earlier done a piece on the Republicans getting contributions from Fox News commentators.
Hypocrite. (Kurtz didn't say that, I am.)
Of course, that was the one point that Olbermann had tried to ignore upon his Tuesday night return and follow-up Wednesday. In other words, he had done exactly what he had lambasted Fox News figures for doing.
Hypocrite.
Keith, of course, tried to brush off Kurtz's remarks by suggesting that perhaps it would have been allright had he given through the Chamber of Commerce, a reference to a recent liberal charge against Republicans. Privately, he must have blown up off-camera over Kurtz putting it in proper perspective and reminding him of the charges he had leveled against the Republicans.
I can hardly wait for Olbermann's next "Special Commentary", in which he indignantly goes after the Republicans or conservatives and accuses them of all kinds of hypocrisy and dishonesty. And the "worst person in the world"? Well, we won't go there, will we?
And have you noted Keith's new sign off? "Seven days since the Republicans took over the House. Mr Boehner, where are the jobs?"
Mr Olbermann. The Republicans don't take over the House until January. If you really believe that government will create private sector jobs, you need to keep asking that question to Nancy Pelosi for the time being.
