Pam Geller & Robert Spencer at Temple University

Pam Geller of Atlas Shrugs and Robert Spencer of Jihad Watch spoke together this month at Temple University. Geller has posted both presentations as well as the contentious Q and A that followed. The main topic of discussion was why the Ground Zero mosque was not appropriate. I thought it important to cross-post this from Atlas Shrugs because both Geller and Spencer are often accused by their opponents of being racists or Muslim-haters (which I don't believe).  Each presentaion is about 12 minutes. The Q and A is about 23 minutes. I invite the readers to listen and decide for themselves. There are also several photos of protesters, most of whom remained outside.

  1. You're being willfully ignorant if you can't see that Plastic Pam is nothing but a shrieking bigot.

  2. Anonymous,

"Plastic" Pam, "shrieking" bigot. Your use of adjectives betrays your own bias. Question: Did you actually view the tapes and listen to her words?

  3. They don't have to be bigots, racists, or Muslim-haters. Maybe they are just badly uninformed and don't think very well.

  4. Anonymous,

Geller doesn't pay me to take the time to research and defend her against all these charges you level at her. Maybe you think she is also Hitler's secret love child too.

Had you taken the time to watch the videos like I did, she actually addressed a couple of things you mentioned. Her concluding sentence was that she would answer all the questions from the audience of her being a racist/Islamophobe etc. She handled herself quite well with a hostile questioner-probably a professor. I doubt if you would have had better success.

  5. Unless she's offering a sincere apology and retraction for those things that I listed, then I'm not interested in her usual denials, sidestepping, and outright lies that she offers as a response.

If you're going to be an apologist and supporter of this woman, then yes, you need to be responsible for also answering to the hate that she promotes.

  6. Siarlys,

I think you have to separate Spencer and Geller though they collaborate together. Spencer is not uninformed. He knows the Koran chapter and verse as well as the life of the Prophet Mohammed.

  7. Geller does not side-step. She puts herself right out front. I really suggest you at least watch the 12-minute presentation she gave and the Q&A.

  8. Spencer is just a male version of Geller but with a little more tact and of course less plastic surgery.

Check out Spencer Watch for more info on that buffoon.

  9. Buffoon? Watch the video and judge for yourself if he is a buffoon. You might learn a thing or two.

  10. Let me ask you straight up Gary, and I want a straight direct answer to this: is it okay with you for Geller to post a picture of Elena Kagan dressed as a Nazi?

  11. I would have to see the picture and the context. Keep in mind, I have posted several pictures doctored with Kagan with Dick Morris' face. That is no attack on her character, just a joke to point out that she looks like Dick Morris.

Look, there are some things on Atlas Shrugs that I would not say. I have never posted the Mohammed cartoons. I am not a supporter of Milosevic and I don't know if or why she "supported" the guy. If you watch the video, she denies being against Muslim people. She does however firmly oppose radical Islam, shariah, any effort to Islamize the west and as she states, the idea of Islamic supremacy.

  12. The context, Gary? Okay, I'll indulge you, here is the post. But really, why should context matter? I think it's quite obvious that portraying a Jew as a Nazi is deeply offensive and downright disgusting. Context or no context. You've condemned very similar things by others. You shouldn't let this slide just because it comes from someone on the same side of the aisle as yourself.

  13. Yee gads! First of all, I know nothing about this Sombart guy other than what is in the article. I had never heard of him .If anything, I think the picture of Kagan in Nazi garb is inappropriate. My suspicion has always been that she has socialist leanings (not National Socialist). Perhaps, her thesis is an indication. But just because she refers to some theorist in her paper does not mean all that much. At least we know she was interested in the subject of socialism. Then again, I am interested in the history of Nazism. That doesn't make me a Nazi.

The picture was in bad taste given what little I have learned of the issue from you.

On the other hand, my pictures of Kagan as Dick Morris are right on the button. The resemblance is amazing.

  14. Spencer may know something, but its not apparent from anything lined to here. In general the pair of them do appear to be engaged in a lucrative vendetta -- lucrative because they can make a living preaching to the choir.

  15. Siarlys,

Preaching to the choir-at Temple University? Think about that.
