LA Schools to Teach That Arizona Law is "Un-American"

The Los Angeles Unified School District has now joined the rest of the nitwits who run LA in condemning the state of Arizona. Now the LAUSD, whose schools boast a graduation rate of under 50%, will teach their students that the Arizona immigration law is "un-American".

First, the schools will have to teach their students to spell Arizona. God forbid that they would teach them that every nation in the world has laws to govern who and cannot enter their country.

The fact is that LAUSD (of which I am a proud product) is arguably the worst-run school district in the country. Very little learning is taking place there, but they get a full dose of indoctrination, that's for sure.

  1. Under 50% graduation rate does probably make it the worst school district in the nation. You were right on Bohemia beer by the way.

  2. You'll have to come up with a more reliable source than Fox News, and provide more detail than "teach that the law is 'un-American'" before I could even evaluate what you are trying to say.

Generally, I oppose education by adjectives. Now if the teacher were instructed to tell the class, "This law violates the U.S. Constitution, Article I, Section 8 [3], [4], [18], Section 10, Article IV, Section 4, and Article VI, Section 2, then I would be happy to enter into discussion as to whether this teaching properly expounds the meaning of the Constitution and the powers of the state.

I doubt if the Los Angeles school authorities are engaged in offering any curriculum so sober or rigorous, but I know that Fox News is capable of watering down even so rigorous a curriculum into a faddish phrase like "Un-American." So, details please, and then I could evaluate your allegation.
