Gaza- The "Misery"

Pierre Rehov produced this video of the "misery" in Gaza we all hear about.
(Hat tip to Maggie's Notebook)

Funny. I never heard about this from all those Israeli Apartheid Week speakers who parade around university campuses lately.

You never said anything about THIS, GEORGE GALLOWAY!!

  1. What a terrible thing to do to pretty pink leotards. Gary, thanks so much for the link.

  2. Come on, Gary, this is really disingenuous. It's like showing a film of the ritzy part of Manhattan and using that to claim that there aren't any poor people in New York City.

  3. Ahhh...the old "two wrongs make a right" argument. Didn't your mom ever teach you that isn't so?

  4. "Ahhh ... the old two wrongs don't make a right argument" reminds me of the story about when they asked the president of one of the Ivy League school why they didn't allow Jews to enroll. "Because they cheat" he answered. Then they said, "But Christians cheat too." Then the president said, "Yes, but we're talking about the Jews."

If they are going to spread the falsehood that it is all desolation and starving children in Gaza then it is only fair to show the parts that are prosperous. Until now the Palestians tried to imply they were starving and desperately needed "humanitarian" aid and the Israelis were starving them out. Like all their propaganda it is primarily lies and here is the photographic proof.

  5. Look, I don't like it when anybody lies. If a cause is really so righteous, then one doesn't need to distort the truth in order to make a point.

  6. So who's lying, Lance? Are the pictures fakes? Remember that contrary to what the anti-Israel crazies are saying, Israel allows about 10,000 tons of supplies a week into Gaza.

  7. Ugh. Do I REALLY have to explain this to you? Is this really so hard?

  8. Lance,

Maybe we could compare it to Mexico-great wealth amid great poverty. Whose fault is that?

  9. That's fine, but that's a separate issue. You're moving the goal posts.

  10. Herb Klein, one of the most sensible men in print this decade, has a very well balanced piece in the latest TIME on Israel, Gaza, Hamas, and "The Limits of Toughness." Its a factually well-balanced piece, not trying to give equal credit to all parties, but calling the entire situation for what it really is. He refers accurately to the "not so peaceful 'peace flotilla'," but then points out that Israel's ABCD (Ari Ben Canaan Disorder), while it helped get through three wars when massed Arab armies tried to destroy Israel, has displaced the seichel which used to characterize Israel's strategic judgement.

He doesn't mention that Israel was founded by left-wing socialists and is now dominated by a right-wing nationalist majority.
