Day 71-US Accepts Help From 12 Countries

Help is on the way in the Gulf! On Day 71, the US has now accepted help from 12 countries. On Day 3, an offer from the Dutch for skimmers was rejected by the EPA. Now, 68 days later, our efficient government changes its mind. Meanwhile.....

  1. What a speedy, efficient government we have.

  2. Why do I have this feeling that if he accepted help from the start, you guys would be criticizing him for that?

  3. Sorry, but the idea that the U.S. has up until now refused international help is a lie.

This is what happens when you only watch Fox News and regurgitate whatever Sarah Palin says.

  4. Anonymous,

First of all, I don't regard fact check as some sort of Bible. Secondly, why was the Dutch offer on Day 3 declined. Why has the Fed govt taken so long toi approve Gov Jindal's request for booms, etc. Finally, why was it significant news that the Gov approved 12 countries aide yesterday?

And I don't listen to Sarah Palin. I find her speeches boring. So she does not form my opinions on anything. I just wonder why the Left spends so much time (every day) attacking her.

  5. I don't blame Obama for the spill, this is all BP's fault.

I do blame Obama for the lack-luster leadership he has shown in this manner.

  6. Okay fine, if FactCheck isn't your cup of tea (what with your aversion to facts and all), here is the actual press release from Deepwater Horizon, stating (as of June 15th) that there were already 15 foreign-flagged vessels helping with the cleanup. That better for ya? Time to stop repeating this lie.

Oh and the only reason I brought up Palin is because she was one of the chief perpetuators of this particular lie.

What kind of an argument is that? You won't pay attention to anything that might make you change your mind or admit that you were spreading a falsehood. I don't take them as a Bible either, but what evidence do you have that they've got it wrong? From what I can tell, Factcheck goes after liberals and conservatives with equal vigor, and I don't see any reason not to trust them.

I just wonder why the Left spends so much time (every day) attacking her.

I wonder why you, somebody who harps on Al Gore, Kieth Olbermann, etcetera, is so confused why a certain public figure is attacked so often.

She's attacked because she spreads lies and stupidity everywhere she goes.

  8. "I wonder why you, somebody who harps on Al Gore, Kieth Olbermann, etcetera, is so confused why a certain public figure is attacked so often."

Now that right there is a damn good question. I won't hold my breath for a straight answer from Gary, though.

  9. Anonymous,

    A fine question indeed.

I think the subject was Sarah Palin, who is attacked nightly by Keith Olbermann. Does Palin attack Olbermann?

Sarah Palin is not running around trying to convince the world that the sky will fall unless we make drastic changes in the world. palin is not trying to take over our lives. Palin doesn't try to enhance her resume by saying or implying that she invented the Internet. Palin doesn't want to run your life.

  10. Wow. Nobody misses a point like you, Gary.

And are you really still repeating the canard about Gore's claim about inventing the Internet? You really don't care if your talking points have any truth to them or not, do you?

  11. "Palin doesn't want to run your life."

Of course not! Well, unless you're gay and want to get married. Or a woman and want to have an abortion. Etc.

  12. Oh and are you ready to admit now that the "refusal of foreign aid" story is a blatant lie?

Or are Deepwater Horizon press releases part of the MSM far-left liberal media conspiracy?

  13. Here is the link to the State Dept release on what has been offered and what has been accepted.
    http://www.state.gov/documents/organization/143488.pdf
It looks like a few offers have been accepted but a lot more are still under consideration.

  14. Gee, Gary pretty quiet on this one all of a sudden.

What's the matter, don't want to admit that this was all a lie that you bought right into?

  15. Anonymous,

I suggest you read that document. The overwhelming majority of offers are "under consideration". Several are declined. A handful were accepted (2-3 weeks after the explosion.)

  16. Are you blind? I gave you an actual press release from Deepwater Horizon that stated that as of June 15, there were 15 foreign-flag vessels helping with the cleanup, and the Jones Act had been no issue in the response at all.

  17. As of June 15th. Didn't the explosion happen on April 20?

On day 3 they turned Holland down on the use of the skimmers . It was actually the EPA that turned them down. Skimmers didn't meet their standards.

And I am not blind. I read the DOS' own report.
