Protest in UK
I am posting an essay from a writer and former European blogger known as Fjordman. This essay appears on the Brussels Journal blog site. The thesis is why Israel's battle is the battle of the West and why Europeans should support Israel. It is quite alarming in its prognostication of a coming world conflict against Islam, something we should all hope is not necessary.

Fousesquawk comment: It is hard not to share the writer's pessimism. Ultimately, it is up to peaceful Muslims to stand up to the radicals, supremists, Jihadists and haters. So far, we have not seen much. Those that do so put their lives on the line. They must also be supported.
