Has Adam Gadahn Been Arrested in Pakistan?
-Dawn (Pakistan)
Adam Gadahn
There are unconfirmed reports that American turncoat Adam Gadahn, a mouthpiece for Al-Queda, has been arrested by Pakistani police. As of now, those reports remain unconfirmed. Gadahn has most recently been reported to have made another video, this one praising the Ft Hood shooting by Major Nidal Hasan. Gadahn was reportedly arrested in the past few days in Karachi and has been moved to Islamabad, the nation's capital.
At this point, AP, CNN, FOX News, CBS, NBC, ABC, the New York Daily News and the Boston Globe are running with the story, albeit with anonymous sources, who are reportedly Pakistani officials who have not been yet authorized to make an official announcement.
A note of caution, however. Some sources are quoting reports from the Pakistan English-language daily Dawn that show a captured suspect in police custody with a bag over his head. Yet Dawn identifies the suspect as one Abu Yahya (born in Pennsylvania), who may be another individual. There could be some confusion as to name, alias and identifying details.

Update:
Though still not official, more and more outlets are continuing to quote unnamed Pakistani officials saying it was, indeed, Gadahn.
During President Obama's news conference, this morning on the Iraqi election, the President ignored a question about Gadahn as he walked back into the White House.
Update; 1:45 PST
CNN just put the news on TV.
Update: 4 pm PST
The reports are now mixed and confusing as to whether the detainee is Gadahn or a Taliban commander, also born in the US and known as Abu Yahya. CNN has now backtracked.
So if CNN put it on now we know it could be bullhooey...
ReplyDeleteI do see that Drudge has it up as the headline which gives me a little more hope.
I'll belive it when I see that traitor-bastard having dinner with our taqiyya in chief or a beer in the garden with Joey B, the VP.
