Judge Tosses Widow's Lawsuit Against San Francisco
Edwin Ramos
I have previously written about the murder of Tony Bologna and his two sons, Matthew and Michael in June 2008 by an MS-13 gang member in San Francisco. Edwin Ramos, now facing trial for three murders, had been in custody of authorities in San Francisco, but as an illegal alien, had never been turned over to federal authorities due to San Francisco's sanctuary city law. As a result, three people are needlessly dead, innocent victims of a gang member who should not have been in the country in the first place.
Subsequent to the scandal, playboy mayor Gavin Newsom, facing all kinds of heat, attempted to amend the law slightly that would have allowed cops to notify ICE when they had an illegal alien gang member in custody. That wasn't good enough for the SF Board of Supervisors, who overruled Newsome and ruled that there had to be a conviction. In other words, this obscene sanctuary policy is still in place.
To add insult to injury, SF Superior Court Judge Charlotte Woolard has now thrown out Danielle Bologna's lawsuit against the city charging that they violated federal law in not turning illegal alien criminals over to ICE, thus causing the death of her husband and two sons.
Judge Woolard ruled-get this- that the federal government had made the law for the purposes of curtailing illegal immigration -not to protect American citizens from crime-thus the city had committed no wrongdoing. Therefore, Bologna had no case.
That, folks, is San Francisco. That is far-left liberalism in action. That's another reason why people are having those tea parties that elites like Keith Olbermann hate so much.
This is why 'Frisco' needs to be removed from the state of California, and be cast adrift to rule themselves into leftarded oblivion. California, where nothing surprises either me or you, really does not need the extra bad publicity that the bay area brings the state. Throw in Eugene, Portland and Bend, Oregon while we are at it.
ReplyDeleteYou don't know how to spell the mayor's name.
ReplyDeleteNolan,
ReplyDeleteYou are right. It is Newsom. I may not get the mayor's name right, but I know he is an irresponsible boob who cares nothing about innocent citizens who are the victims of gang violence.
More importantly, however, is that the only comment you have about this disgraceful episode?
I don't like the sanctuary policy, but apparently a federal judge came to the same ruling as superior court judge Charlotte Woolard.
ReplyDelete"The Bologna family also filed suit in federal court, but that suit was dismissed last year after a U.S. District Court judge "reached virtually identical conclusions," Dorsey said."
