The below article comes from the Middle East Forum and concerns the recent Texas Supreme Court decision that upheld Frontpage Magazine writer Joe Kaufman's legal victory over a coalition of Islamic groups that were trying to silence his voice through a lawsuit.

This is a huge victory for freedom of speech-especially by bloggers. It is also an important victory in our efforts to expose radical/subversive Islamists in America. If bloggers are indistinguishable from other journalists, that grants us an extra measure of protection from malicious lawsuits. Of course, that was a Texas state court decision.
Kaufman was the target because of his reporting on radical Islamist elements in the US. The goal was not to take his money because his funds were legitimate. The goal was to sue him into the poor house and set an example to others who dare to call out organizations like the Islamic Society of North America or the Dallas area organizations who actually brought the suit. It did nothing to serve or protect the interests of innocent Muslims in the US.
I am proud to have contributed money to Joe's legal fund.
