Why Is It So Urgent, Mr President?
"This deal won't last!"
Like that salesman who wants you to buy now while the offer is still good, President Obama tells us that this health care bill is so important, we can't wait. We can't wait to read the bill, we can't have an open and public televising of the Democrats' back-room meetings. We just need to pass this thing now.
Today, the President tells us we will see the benefits immediately once the bill is passed.

How many of you know that if this bill is passed, we start paying increased taxes for it immediately? Yet, we don't start seeing those "benefits" until the year 2013-14.
Now if I offered to sell you a commodity, like say, a computer or TV, and told you you had to pay for it today but couldn't take delivery until three or four years from now, what would you say?
That's what I thought you'd say.
The truth is the President and his minions in Congress want to shove this bill down our throats because they know that the more time passes, the more we the People learn about the details and the more we oppose it. It's like Global Warming. Here we have nut cases like Al Gore and Prince Charles telling us that we only have another 5-7 years before IT WILL BE TOO LATE, so we have to take drastic action NOW.
It's the old sales gimmick all over again. Common sense tells me that monumental decisions take time, study and thought. When people start telling you we have to take such drastic action NOW, it's time to watch your wallet.
