Meanwhile in Sderot.....
(Tip of the hat to Findalis at Monkey in the Middle)
With all the headline-grabbing antics of people like British parliamentarian George Galloway (House of Loons) and his Viva Palestina convoy to Gaza, you may not have heard much about the on-going firing of rockets from Gaza into southern Israel targeting schoolchildren and other civilians. The news media prefers not to cover it, nor do the intellectual elites in our universities even mention it as they condemn Israel for last year's fighting in Gaza. In March, the drumbeat against Israel will be heard again with the so-called "Israel-Apartheid Week", basically, a gathering of radical leftists and pro-Palestinian activists, who will condemn Israel-and America as well.

So when you hear these misfits condemning Israel and calling for its dismantling, ask yourselves why "the heroic" Palestinians under Hamas in Gaza are firing rockets into Israeli schoolyards in Sderot. When you hear about the "occupation" of Gaza, ask how many Israelis are present in Gaza. (The answer is none.) When you hear about that "infamous wall" Israel has built, rememeber that it was built to keep out suicide bombers-and has largely worked. When you hear about how the Gazans have no access to necessities of life, check into that claim. You will find that Israel does indeed allow the necessities to enter into Gaza. Ask yourselves why the Egyptians have closed themselves off from Gaza and are trying to stop the smuggling of arms into Gaza from their territory. When you see those film clips of Gazans "living in darkness" because the Israelis have "cut off electricity", ask why Hamas has targeted the Israeli power plant in southern Israel that was supplying much of the electricity to Gaza. You might even check out that image where a reporter was standing on a dark street in Gaza to show viewers how electricity had neen cut off by those evil "Zionists" but forgot there was a street light shining a couple of blocks away.
It's called propaganda.
