Richard Trumka-Why the Card Check Bill Must be Defeated
Tip of the hat to Workforce Fairness Institute (WFI) and Hot Air.com for this video on Richard Trumka, boss of the AFL-CIO. Why is this video important? Because there is a Democrat-sponsored bill winding its way through Congress called the Card Check or Employee Free Choice Act (believe it or not). This lovely (and inaptly-named) little piece of legislation (which I have previously written about) would do away with that sticky old requirement for union organizers called SECRET VOTE. That means that Vinnie and Sluggo can visit each employee and ask him or her to sign a card asking for their union to be certified at the workplace. If a majority vote yes-that union is in. There is no secret ballot-just Vinnie and Sluggo collecting and recording your vote.
As for Trumka, he is cut in the mold of the tough-talking union bosses of old. Of course, he has all the requisite federal investigations into his financial dealings during his union career. And make no mistake, he is firmly in the saddle with Obama and the Democrats.
WFI has a petition on their website opposing Card Check. I have signed it. So should you.
