Hillary Flops in India

Hillary in India

"No!"

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, back on the diplomatic shuttle after cracking one of her sharp elbows, showed in India this week why she should never be president. Following the Obama diplomatic line of apologizing to the world for America's transgressions, Hillary said this to her Indian counterparts:

“We acknowledge now with President Obama that we have made mistakes in the United States, and we along with other developed countries have contributed most significantly to the problem that we face with climate change,” she said.

She added that “we are hoping a great country like India will not make the same mistakes.”

Of course, India, along with China, is one of the world's fasting growing economies, yet these two countries, in spite of their rapid industrialization, were exempt from the provisions of the Kyoto Treaty. In the case of India, they showed Mrs Clinton this week that they have no intention of slowing down their own contribution to "Climate Change", whatever it may be.

At a joint appearance, Mrs Clinton was told the following by Jairam Ramesh, India's Minister of Environment and Forests:

"There is simply no case for the pressure that we-who have among the lowest emissions per capita-face to actually reduce emissions." He then added,

"And as if this pressure was not enough, we also face the threat of carbon tariffs on our exports to countries such as yours."

Thank you for coming, Mrs Clinton, and do try the chicken tikka before you LEAVE.

Another "diplomatic triumph" for the "Smartest Woman in the World".
