Remember that pointed question President Obama was asked at this last press conference about the invitations to Iranian diplomats being invited to the 4th of July celebrations at US embassies world-wide-the one that Obama didn't want to answer? That opened up the little-known fact that per recommendation of the State Department, said invitations would go out to Iranian diplomats all over the world. In light of the recent brutal crackdown in Iran, these invitations have proved to be an embarrassment, and, as a result, they have now been rescinded. So no-harm, no foul, right?
Not so fast. What were these invitations all about anyway? Obviously, part of Obama's outreach to the mullahs in Iran. Was this possibly a prelude to something bigger? Like a sit-down with Ahmadinejad, perhaps? Or maybe even a meeting with The "Supreme Leader" (the Iranian one)?
At any rate, the 4th of July invitations were the brilliant idea of the State Department. More specifically, the brilliant idea of.....
"And the bucks stops...."
This is just another example of bad advice that this State Department has given Obama since he entered office. As I have more than once suggested, perhaps it is time for a shake-up at State. I suggest cutting off the snake at its very head. That means, in the most diplomatic way I can put it....
Hillary Clinton should be fired.
