The Middle East press organ El Arabiya has posted its English-language report on the murder of an Iraqi woman, Shaima Alwadi,  in El Cajon, California.

“He did so after watching Shaima’s husband drive away with four of the children he was taking to school. Only Shaima and her eldest daughter Fatima stayed in the house. Fatima was asleep.”

The murderer, Hussein recounted, saw Shaima in the dinning room and attacked her with an iron rod or a spanner.

“He first hit her on her forehead then on her right ear. The third strike was on the back of her head. This was followed by five fast and consecutive strikes on her head and shoulders.”

Jewish Child Attacked in Paris

The bad news continues to come out of France in the wake of the atrocity in Toulouse. This event pales in comparison with what happened in Toulouse, but it is indicative of what Jews continue to face in France. A 12-year-old boy was attacked outside his Jewish school by older teenagers in Paris.

Madeleine Albright hasn't seen a misogynist man since she was chasing Yasser Arafat down the halls trying to get him to come back to the negotiating table or when she was being snookered by Kim Jong Il in North Korea.

In the wake of the mob action being stirred up by the New Black Panther Party over the Trayvon Martin shooting, the arrest of NBPP member Hashim Nzinga on gun charges stirred the Fousesquawk memory bank. I just knew I had written about this guy before.

Was There a Hate Crime in Kansas City?

This case has not gotten the publicity that the Trayvon Martin case has because it alleges that a white boy was victimized by two black teens. Like the Martin case and the murder of a Muslim woman in El Cajon, California, this one is some what confusing. but troubling none the less. The report is that a white teenager in Kansas City was followed home by two black teens who attacked him on his front porch, set him afire with gasoline and ran away. There were no witnesses, and no suspects have been arrested.

Several blogs are repeating the latest statements from the boy's mother that the suspects told him that "You get what you deserve, white boy." Of course, if this is to be considered a  hate crime, that alleged statement is of great importance. The problem is that the police report only says the boys stated, "This is what you get." The boy's mother says that her son told her of the "white boy" comment after the initial interview with the police. Here is a report from KCTV 5 that seems to be the most complete on that point.

What we have here are three separate incidents in Kansas City, Sanford, Florida and El Cajon, California that may or may not be hate crimes. All three are still shrouded in varying degrees of mystery. If it turns out that all three are truly some form of hate crime, then it raises the question of how far our society has progressed-or digressed in terms of race, ethnic and religious relations. Are we to be a diverse society of people who live together as Americans or are we to be a collection of hostile tribes?

In all three cases, all I can hope for is the truth to prevail and see justice done where appropriate. Let's don't rush to judgement. And for God's sake, let's don't allow any of these to turn into mob justice.

Trayvon Martin Case-British Coverage

The Daily Mail (UK) has an extensive article on the Trayvon Martin shooting case in Florida, complete with pictures. It paints a picture of a furious controversy that has the potential to set race relations in the US back  It is an article worth reading and pondering. It also raises the question as to whether our own media is giving fair coverage to the case.

I should add that according to news reports, the Martin family lawyer has condemned the actions of the New Black Panther Party and stated that the family does as well. Whether or not the allegations regarding the dead youth's history are accurate or not I have no idea. The only editorializing I care to do at this point is to point out that Jesse Jackson Sr. and Al Sharpton on Johnny-on-the-spot, as they always are, exploiting this tragedy for their own agendas. In addition, MSNBC host Lawrence O'Donnell has joined his colleague Ed Schultz in passing judgement on this case before all the facts are in. It is a case of irresponsible journalism.

As for the actions of the NBPP, J Christian Adams, a formal DOJ official and now writer for PJ Media, has opined on the reward they (NBPP) have offered for George Zimmerman's "apprehension" and DOJ's responsibility to act on it.

Fousesquawk Travel Destinations- England

Welcome to Fousesquawk Travel Destinations, the first in what will hopefully be a long list of travelogues by your favorite world traveler-me. First up is England.

Getting there


Getting to England is a snap. Pakistan Airlines has daily direct flights from New York and most Third World hell-holes non-stop to Karachi. From there bus connections to London and other destinations are easy. They leave every 5 minutes from curbside at Karachi Airport.

Dining





London has a wide variety of dining choices. You can either have breakfast 3 times a day or eat all your meals in one of the plethora of Indian restaurants. If you are more adventuresome and prefer to try some of the indigenous dishes, there is bangers and mash, boiled beef and cabbage, fish and chips, boiled potatoes, corned beef, baked beans and gravy over a delicious slice of white bread, and my personal favorite, Thames River trout.

If you are a drinker, England is famous for its stouts and ales. My favorite is McShaunessy's Stale Pale Ale. (Just ask the bartender for an SPA.)

Sports


For you sports enthusiasts, England has an, ahem, interesting variety of sports; soccer, cricket, and rugby, also known as bangers and mash.



(Think what Barry Sanders could have done.)


Cricket will remind you of baseball except the pitcher, for some strange reason, never can seem to reach the plate. And if you think baseball drags on forever, a cricket game-or is it-match? drags on for 3 days or so. Soccer is not exactly my cup of tea (no pun intended), but the half-time shows are not to be missed.

Things to do


If you want to rent a car and drive out into the countryside, it might be worth your while to see some of the Aborigines, a vanishing breed, which will probably become extinct in the next few decades. Or you can just stay in London and enjoy the cosmopolitan ambiance.

Did I mention Buckingham Palace? Someone was suggesting they burn it down last year, but it is still there. There is even a royal family living inside including an aging queen, who is said to be related to the old Hawaiin queen Honolulululu (or was it Hilo Hattie)? There is even a dowager prince, who occasionally leaves the palace grounds with his consort to drive through the city streets and greet his loyal subjects.





Entertainment

Movies, plays, the media, comedy, the famous British humor; it's all here for you to enjoy. Benny Hill may be gone, but comedian George Galloway is still around to tickle your funny bone.

I was lucky enough to catch one of his performances Stateside when he came to Irvine-for free! Oh, they did pass around a collection plate-for charity, you know-but I played the role of tightwad.

And England is also the home of famed actress Dame Yvonne Ridley, nicknamed ,"the Bombshell".

The Florida Shooting-Murky

What is crucial to this investigation is to determine what exactly happened when Zimmerman and Martin came face to face. Who initiated the fight, and under which circumstances did Zimmerman draw his weapon and under what circumstances did he fire the weapon? Was there a struggle for the weapon? At any point did Zimmerman fear for his life? Therein lies the case.

I think it behooves everyone to let the investigation proceed and not jump to a conclusion.

Qaradawi Banned From Entering France by Sarkozy

The article concerns Qaradawi's "controversial" fatwas and statements on subjects such as women, Shias, Muammar Qaddafi, etc.

What is conspicuously missing to both reports is reference to those cozy little proclamations about his wish to die in battle against the infidels and his references to that charming hadith about Jews hiding behind trees, which are calling out for the Muslim to come and kill the Jew and all  that. here is what both articles left out:

Suffice to say Qaradawi does not like Jews or Christians, and I guess Shia Muslims as well. To the best of my recollection, he is not on record as to his position on Buddhists. He called for the killing of Qaddafi, which is all well and good, but exalted Saddam Hussein to the rank of "martyr".

In the wake of the Toulouse atrocity last week, having this guy come smokin' into town is the last thing the French need. What was he going to do and say in France? Nobody can predict because Qaradawi is an unpredictable man. Would he sing words of praise for the great Jihadist warrior, Mohamed Merah? Would he tell his audiences from the Union of Islamic Organizations of France that Merah is now cavorting with 72 virgins after having slaughtered a rabbi and three children, ages 3, 6 and 8? Maybe he will call for the murder of Sarkozy.

Kudos to Sarkozy for slamming the door on this hate-monger. France has enough problems on its hands without having to deal with this madman.

Obama Asks Medvedev for More Space Until After Election

So what are we to make of President Obama's caught on open mic statement to Russian president Medvedev that after the elections, he can be more flexible (on our missile defense in Europe)?

Well, let's see. Maybe it means we can increase our import of Russian vodka after Obama wins re-election in November. I have always wanted to try that Cherry vodka, but not at 70 proof, be jeezuz.

But alas, we must return to the real world of Obama's Chamberlainesque foreign policy and assume it means that after November, he will be able to give the store away to the Russians, vodka and all as he makes a deal to cave in on our missile defense system in Europe. I realize it is a stretch to think that, but hell, that's what the topic of discussion was about. Anyway, that will make the Russians happy, and since it is Obama's last election, there's nothing we can do about it in 2016.

ATF Morale Hits Bottom

The below Fox News report about sinking morale at ATF is hardly surprising in the wake of the Fast and Furious gun scandal.

Most federal law enforcement agents at the field level hold somewhat negative attitudes toward their HQ. It was similar at DEA when I was an agent. Once an agent is promoted to supervisory level, it is expected they will spend at least one tour of duty at HQ in Washington DC. It is there that they get their "frontal lobotomy" as we used to say. DEA HQ was generally viewed as a bureaucracy, where things ground to a halt or a snail's pace whenever the field needed HQ approval for additional money or authorization to carry out a particular enforcement operation that was outside the normal procedure. Many agents (certainly not all) who were well-respected as street agents earned a lesser reputation as supervisors or when they were working in HQ.

My perception of the ATF scandal (without the benefit of inside knowledge) is that the top level ATF officials were under the thumb of Eric Holder's corrupt Justice Department. I still hold that the idea and/or the approval for Operation Fast and Furious had to come from the highest levels of DOJ-if not the White House. I believe that those 80,000 documents the DOJ Inspector General is withholding from Congress will prove that.

As a DEA agent, I occasionally worked with ATF. I respected them. Along with DEA, they had the most dangerous work in Federal law enforcement. I feel for what the rank-and-file agents are going through. I also think that if and when all the facts come out and the real guilty persons are punished, nobody will be happier than the street agents in ATF.
