At around 4 am, the morning of September 1st, dozens of armed persons attacked a house in the Dutch town of Overasselt, just south of Nijmegen. A security guard at the house was shot and killed, but the owner of the house, identified only as Jan G., escaped unharmed. Two police officers responding were seriously wounded by gunfire but are reportedly out of danger.
At least 34 people have been arrested at this point. According to below article from Algemeen Dagblad, translated by Fousesquawk, they come from the Netherlands, France, Algeria, and Belgium, among other countries.
Jan G. is identified as the suspected leader of a drug organization. Bolle Jos, also mentioned, is reportedly a major drug kingpin, linked to incarcerated kingpin, Ridouan Taghi. Jos is a fugitive and believed to be living in Sierra Leone. The bodyguard, Barry, is more fully identified in other Dutch media as Barry Leenders (51).

If you scroll way down this article to the 12:11 time mark, there is a video of 4 masked men, apparently inside the house, where the owner is hiding and reading a prepared statement in English telling Jan G,.to return the cocaine he allegedly stole from them or they would kill everybody. The day after unprecedented violence in Overasselt, the police are still conducting a full-scale investigation. In the explosion of violence, a bodyguard named Berry (51) was shot to death, and two police officers were seriously injured. The number of arrested suspects as of Wednesday stands at 35. There is a gruesome video uploaded online in which Jan G., the owner of the house where the attack took place, is threatened. Follow all developments on this live blog.
