Beheadings in the Eyes of Europe
Hat tip Vlad Tepes and Gates of Vienna
A little historical background is in order here. Everybody (with the possible exception of the university crowd) knows that France once used the guillotine as their form of execution. Not so many may be aware that Germany also used the guillotine even before the coming of Hitler. For example, Hans and Sophie Scholl and the other members of the White Rose resistance to Hitler were executed by guillotine in Munich's Stadelheim prison for the "crime" of making and distributing anti-government flyers during the war.
Somewhere along the line, Europe turned against the idea of capital punishment altogether. Meanwhile, the idea of beheading people remained popular in certain Islamic societies and jurisprudence, Saudi Arabia, for example. Then there are the beasts of ISIS, for whom beheading is a specialty deliberately meant to horrify the Judeo-Christian world into submission.
The most recent example occurred in Morocco in December when two young Scandinavian women from Denmark and Norway, were abducted while camping, raped, and beheaded, an act that was captured on video by the perpetrators. Three men, who have been linked to ISIS, have been arrested by Moroccan police. Reportedly, they considered their evil act to be "the will of Allah".
If you are not shocked now, keep reading.
In Sweden, a nation determined to continue its program of Muslim immigration and multi-culturalism no matter how many rapes, murders, riots, and terrorist acts are committed against its people, Swedish state television not only downplayed and omitted the gory details of the murders in Morocco, they even informed their viewers that whoever put up the horrible video on social media could be prosecuted and sent to prison for four years. This was meant not so much as to deter jihadists who were celebrating the horrific act (one of the victim's mothers was actually sent the video by some animal), but also those who felt that it was necessary for the public to understand the true nature of the jihadists and the mortal risk they pose to all of us. It's called censorship. The Swedish government and media do not want to let their citizens think anything negative about Islam-"the religion of peace and tolerance".
If you are still not shocked, keep reading. We now turn our attention back to post-Marie Antoinette France.
Also in December, a group of unhappy Yellow Vesters staged a mock beheading of French President Emmanuel Macron. (For the sake of you American university students, that means it was fake and used a dummy.) But for the French government, it was a macro-aggression as we would say here in America. Not only that, but a crime as well ("provocation not followed by events or a crime or an offense"). Up to five years in the Bastille for that-not only for the mock executioners but for journalists who covered and filmed the act itself).
For you American readers who plan to take that summer vacation to Europe and think you carry your First Amendment rights with you-think again. There is no real freedom of speech in Europe.

What Is Actually Being Said in North American Mosques?
Hat tip Jihad Watch and Israel National News
Remember when the Obama administration launched that misguided effort calling, "Countering Violent Extremism"? It was supposed to rely on mosques to steer Muslims the down the right path and away from terrorism. Unfortunately, all too many mosques have radical imams who actually advocate violence against the infidels-especially Jews.

Too bad nobody is firing imams who preach hatred towards Jews and Christians.

Outrage: Cop Killer Mumia Abdul Jamal Granted New Appeal
Thirty seven years ago, Mumia Abdul Jamal murdered Philadelphia police officer Daniel Faulkner in cold blood. He was quickly captured. The evidence was overwhelming, and he was convicted and sentenced to death. After years of legal back and forth, his sentence was commuted to life imprisonment without parole. Meanwhile, he became a darling of the left and the university crowd.
Now a judge has granted Abu Jamal another appeal on the flimsiest of reasons.
https://www.foxnews.com/us/widow-of-slain-police-officer-outraged-after-her-husbands-killer-mumia-abu-jamal-is-granted-appeal
This animal should have been executed years ago. Unfortunately, when you have the left on your side celebrating you as a hero/victim, they never give up. For an example of just how outrageous his supporters are, one needs look no further than Freemumia.com. Look at how they describe this creep. Among other insane claims, they state that his trial did not meet "international standards". Yet what other country has a fairer system of justice than ours?
I can only pray that this appeal goes nowhere and Abu Jamal dies in prison. My prayers also go out to Faulkner's widow, whose ordeal is now being prolonged.

Five arrests in terrorism investigation Rotterdam
The police arrested five terrorism suspects on Saturday. In the morning, four were arrested in Rotterdam. A fifth during the day. Where (exactly) the arrests were made has not been reported.
They are suspected of involvement in the preparation of a terrorist crime. Immediately after the arrests in the morning, the locations where the detentions were made were searched. Four arrested men are between 20 and 30 years old and come from non-Western countries. Nothing further is known about the fifth.
The investigation will continue in the coming days, the police reported. "The emphasis is on further research into the nature and scale of the terrorist threat." The police can not say anything else.
In June two men were arrested in Rotterdam on suspicion of preparing terrorism and membership of a terrorist organization. It is believed they wanted to attack the security services in the Netherlands.
In September, seven men were arrested, who according to the Public Prosecution, wanted to commit a major terrorist attack on an unnamed event. Two of these men come from Rotterdam and one from Vlaardingen.
** Update: Below is a report from De Telegraaf. Reporters interviewed the wife of one of the suspects, a Syrian refugee.

Wife of arrested terror suspect: 'I know nothing about it'
By PAUL ELDERIN
ROTTERDAM - The young woman of one of the four terrorist suspects arrested in the Rotterdam region, opens the door broken early Saturday morning but already repaired.
She has a son on the arm. Her little daughter beckons with a smile that the reporter must come in. A friend with baby is also in the flat. In the corner is a Christmas tree with flickering red lights.
'Refugees'
They hardly speak Dutch. According to neighbors, they are Syrian refugees who came to live on the 5th floor in a fifteen storey apartment in the Rotterdam Ommoord-Prins Alexander suburb a year ago.
The fear and despair are in the eyes of the mother to read. "We were all asleep when this morning suddenly police rushed in with a lot of banging. My husband was taken out of bed and taken away. I do not know why, " she says via an interpreter on the phone. She does not want to say where they come from.
Scary
According to a neighbor, the man works as a mechanic in a car garage in the neighborhood. "Pretty scary that this happens so close. I hope that no explosives are found. Soon our gallery will explode here. No, we did not have real contact with that family. "
A Dutch neighbor in the multicultiflat has seen it all tonight. She knows it well: "A terrorist has been carried away with a bag over his head. As many as twenty heavily armed officers came into their flat and I heard a lot of shouting and screaming."

World Hijab Day????
For those of you who didn't know (as I didn't until a few days ago), February 1 is "World Hijab Day".
https://worldhijabday.com/
This is the latest PR innovation by activist Muslims to advance the cause of political Islam. I had previously seen this while teaching at UC Irvine. Every year, the Muslim Student Union would hold their annual "Islam Awareness" week of events to put out a positive spin on Islam for the benefit of the rest of the student body. One of the features was "Wear a Hijab Day", when non-Muslim coeds were encouraged to walk around with a head scarf and experience what it was really like to be a Muslim woman in America with all the Islamophobes insulting you and throwing rotten fruit at you (which doesn't actually happen). In January 2013, CAIR's San Francisco director, Zahra Billoo, came to speak at UCI as part of this propaganda effort. I actually got her to admit that under sharia law, there actually is the death penalty for adulterers. She hastened to add, however, that it also applies to men (even though-my words- it is hardly applied evenly across both genders).
What is important here is not whether Muslim women in America have the right to wear a headscarf. They do. My own personal opinion is that while many Muslim women consider it a requirement for their religion, many others wear it because they are pressured to do so by their family or peers. Some, in my opinion, wear the hijab to make a statement. My perception is that Muslim women in America, especially on college campuses are increasingly wearing the hijab.
What is important for people to consider if they choose to take note of this day is whether Muslim women have the right not to wear the hijab. In certain Muslim countries, most notably Saudi Arabia and Iran, a Muslim woman who appears in public without it-or a full face covering-is subject to arrest. In other places, even in the West, women have been subjected to violence-up to murder- from male members of their families for failing to adhere to Islamic norms of female modesty in their dress.
This is the freedom that I am concerned about. Muslim women in America should have the right to decide for themselves if they want to wear a hijab, nikab, burka, mini-skirt, or whatever. They are entitled to the same rights as all other women in America.
Muslim activist women will insist that they choose to wear the hijab as a form of empowerment and that it is their own choice. To that, I would ask, "empowerment or a statement of separateness"? At any rate, it is truly freedom of choice that matters here. It would be very hard to get an accurate survey of how many Muslim women wear a hijab out of choice or compulsion, but what is crucial is that they truly have the freedom to wear a hijab or not. To be honest, I am not comfortable with countries like France trying to enforce a ban on hijabs. That would never pass muster under American laws. But true equality (and true assimilation) means that Muslim women really have the choice. There is no question that in America they have the right to wear it. They must also truly have the freedom and the right not to wear it.
I would encourage non-Muslim women to think twice before they accept any invitations to don a hijab "in solidarity" on February 1. Solidarity with what? Think about what might happen to so many Muslim women around the world if they chose to remove their hijabs.
