I still have emails in my inbox folder to remind me of the date.

A young woman of Pakistani background became a Christian from Islam and attended my church. Her parents called the church office and requested a pastor to pay them a visit, so the church sent me. The parents had also requested Siddiqi, and were very surprised that he actually showed up; they were expecting him to be a no-show because of his busy schedule. But I guess bringing one back into the fold is a high priority which he made time for in his schedule.

It was March 19, 2010. I arrived at the parents home, and shortly thereafter Siddiqi arrived. After introductions, he immediately began belittling the young woman and making a mockery of her new Christian faith. I jumped into the conversation and took control, and for the next four hours, he challenged the young woman with derogatory comments about Christianity and challenged what Christianity taught. I set him straight with his questions and then challenged both Muhammad and the Quran, areas where I am well versed. He was caught off guard because I’m sure he was expecting someone to show up who knew nothing about Islam. He was wrong.

Clearly, he had attempted to badger the young woman back into Islam and his tactic (attempted) was to demonstrate the irrationality of Christianity. He used tired old arguments that I was easily able to refute. At the end of the night, he pulled the parents aside and spoke to them in Urdu (their native language) which I did not understand. Then we parted ways.

I learned the next day that after Siddiqi and I had both left, the young woman’s brother beat her for remaining a Christian. I don’t know if Siddiqi has any influence in that action or not, since I was not privy to the Urdu conversation. She fled the house the next day to a safe place.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14420550285987559434noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-59324506101124457.post-4406322164393347992012-02-23T20:44:27.799-08:002012-02-23T20:44:27.799-08:00It is disturbing, to say the least, to hear Mr. Si...It is disturbing, to say the least, to hear Mr. Siddiqi state at the town hall that Islam (and he) supports freedom of religion. I have personal experience with him that says otherwise.

Two years ago, on March 19, 2010, I was invited to the home of a young woman who had just become a Christian from Islam. Her parents called my church (where the young woman attended) and asked for a pastor to pay them a visit. I was sent. Little did I know the parents had also requested Siddiqi, who made time in his busy schedule to rescue a stray one and bring her back into the fold.

After introductions, he immediately began badgering the young woman, making outrageous claims against Christianity that I refuted. I then challenged him on issues within Islam, particularly on the Quran and Muhammad. We went head to head for four hours. His clear intent was to intimidate the young woman back into the fold of Islam, but he failed. He did not expect someone with a knowledge of Islam to show up and challenge him.

He says with his mouth that he respects freedom of religion. But his actions that night sent a different message; you dare not leave Islam. His words and his actions send contradictory messages. This is Siddiqi.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14420550285987559434noreply@blogger.com
