In reality, the majority of what constitutes the belief and practice of Muslims is NOT in the Koran; it comes from the hadith.

Case in point (among dozens): Muslims are obliged to pray 5 times a day while facing Mecca. Ask a Muslim next time this defense is tossed your way, where does it say in the Koran that Muslims must pray 5 times a day? It's not in the Koran; it's in the hadith - the recorded traditions of Muhammad. And what Muhammad said in the hadith carries as much weight as if had been said in the Koran.

While it is true there is nothing in the Koran which prohibits one from leaving Islam, the same cannot be said about the hadith. Muhammad's words, as recorded in the hadith, are very specific about what should happen to a Muslim who leaves his religion: Kill him.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14420550285987559434noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-59324506101124457.post-18668461302401043052012-12-20T12:35:07.992-08:002012-12-20T12:35:07.992-08:00Thank you, Nonie. She is an Egyptian-born apostate who has spoken out against the extremism and intolerance she has witnessed personally. My conclusion is Islam is more of a political ideology which makes it extremely dangerous.Nonie Darwishhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06200068593712793251noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-59324506101124457.post-13856910424106480502012-12-19T19:40:13.487-08:002012-12-19T19:40:13.487-08:00An excellent report.
