The National Police have arrested a 36-year-old man of Moroccan origin in Denia, accused of having sexually attacked a 17-year-old minor with autism in the rest room of a kebab pizzeria in Denia, according to what this daily has confirmed from sources close to the case.

The incident occurred on the afternoon of last May 1 in a pizzeria in Denia, but the minor said nothing to her family until they arrived at their residence located in another municipality of Marina Alta. The 17-year-old minor went with her parents to a Civil Guard station to file a complaint for sexual assault with penetration. She claimed that it was not a consensual relationship and that she froze after telling him no and trying to push him away.

According to the complaint, the minor was with her family in the establishment when they were approached by a man in his 30s, who began a conversation with them. He told them that he was of Belgian nationality but had spent 10 years living in Denia. The man gained their confidence and even gave them his phone number.

At a certain moment, the minor went to the establishment's bathroom. She claims that there was a knock on the door, but she did not open it, and when she was leaving, she met the man who had said he was from Belgium. According to the claimant, he lunged at her and began to kiss her on the mouth. He lowered his pants and began to touch her in her intimate parts with his hands. The victim claims that he also inserted his penis into her anus and believes that he ejaculated.

Paralyzed

The minor also said that the attacker was taking photos with his mobile phone when they were in the restroom, and the man wrote down his telephone number. Once the incident was over, the minor left the restroom but said nothing to her family because she was very afraid and was paralyzed with fear).

Her father was surprised by the time it had taken her to leave the restroom and asked her if anything had occurred, but the minor indicated to him that she had become ill and had been vomiting. Nevertheless, once back home, she told her parents what happened, and they went to file a complaint. After communicating the facts to the Civil Guard, judicial protocol was activated, and the minor was examined at Denia hospital by a forensic doctor.

The sexual assault investigation was taken up by the National Police since it had occurred in Denia, and the agents succeeded in identifying the attacker, who was recognized by the victim and her family from photographs.

Subsequent to what happened in the pizzeria restroom, the minor was receiving messages on her mobile phone from the person now arrested, in which he was inviting her to finish the act in his house.

The accused was arrested by the National Police at his residence in Denia, and once at the station, he exercised his right not to say anything, after which, he was brought before a judge once (the police) concluded their investigation. The arrested man showed his mobile telephone to the police, and in the trash section, they found two photos taken with the minor in the restroom.

The police have also taken statements from employees of the establishment to see if they saw something and if the arrested person was in the restaurant when the reported attack occurred.
