This is one to watch. The Holy Land Foundation trial in the Northern District of Texas (Dallas) in 2007-08 resulted in convictions and long prison sentences for defendants who were diverting Islamic charity funds to overseas terror groups. Now the subversive Council on American Islamic Relations is petitioning President Obama to pardon these prisoners.

If Obama pardons them, it will send a message that he is on the side of the Islamic radicals. It has long been rumored that the US Attorneys Office in Dallas was prepared to go forward with more indictments in this case, but was held back by the Holder Justice Department. An unshackled Justice Department may be in a position to bring down some even bigger fish.

You're right. I would much prefer that President Obama focus on commuting the sentences of people who got life sentences for "drug conspiracy" because they had once done a favor for, or lived next door to the second cousin of, or got a ride to school from, a drug kingpin who knew how to get themselves a low sentence by turning in small fry, often with perjured testimony.
Watch a lot of tv do you?
I don't get a broadcast signal, but I did spend some years volunteering at a house where people stay when visiting at a federal women's prison, and still have detailed notes as well as a good deal of research I did on published material. I spent a good ten years making life difficult for a state parole commission, and I do have VHS tapes of some excellent PBS documentaries.
The HLF people were guilty.
