Tonight Should Be a Telling Moment in Philadelphia

I would not normally do this, but I urge everyone to watch tonight's convention proceedings in Philadelphia if possible. Featured will be a group of African-American mothers whose sons were killed by police in shooting incidents. Without knowing the exact lineup and the details of each incident, the main speaker will be Lezley McSpadden, the mother of Michael Brown, the so-called "gentle giant", who was killed while trying to disarm and kill a Ferguson, Missouri police officer. The event is entitled: "Mothers of the Movement".

That was the case that became such a cause celebe and fostered the mantra, "Hands up. Don't shoot", which was a false narrative. Even Eric Holder's Justice Department determined much to their chagrin that the shooting was completely justified.

However, the Democrats won't let facts get in the way of their narrative of cops killing unarmed black men. So they are going to trot out the understandably grief-stricken mothers, who will likely continue the division between the police and the black community.

Make no mistake: The Democratic party is not police friendly. Their candidate hates law enforcement just as she does the military. We have heard enough anecdotes of how Hillary Clinton has treated her Secret Service protectors as well as military officers who were assigned to the White House during the Bill Clinton presidency. Hillary didn't even want the latter to wear their uniforms in the White House. And to think that yesterday she was addressing the VFW in Charlotte. Who lined up that gig?

But I digress. It will be truly interesting and instructive to observe the theme of tonight's events.
