Campus Reform Weighs in on UCI Hate Week

Hat tip Campus Reform

".....this year’s apartheid wall didn’t garner much interest, but the students attending to it made quite a spectacle anyway, shouting things like “f*** white people,” “free Palestine,” and “white people go back to Europe.”

Campus Reform, which had earlier reported on the reaction at UC Irvine to the coming Milo
Yiannopoulos appearance, has posted a follow up on my letter to Dr Douglas Haynes, Vice Provost of the Office of Academic Equity, Diversity and Inclusion. Not having received a response (as I did), they have posted the below story. As you will see in their story, they are reporting some pretty incendiary language (above) that I had not been aware of.

For the record, I am not teaching at UCI this quarter, but I did go to campus on two occasions during "hate week". On Monday, I witnessed the so-called "apartheid wall" mentioned in the CR article and took some pictures. I did not hear the quoted language. I also went to campus on Wednesday evening to attend the speaking appearance of Rabbi Yisroel Dovid Weiss. On that occasion, I did not go to the apartheid wall, which was probably already dismantled for the evening.

I would hope that the university would look into the allegations of offensive speech directed at whites.

Of course, I am not sure if the Office of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion includes any concern for whites when they are targeted with offensive speech.

I have a better slogan though: Lombards go back to the Volga. (I know they invaded Italy from Germany... but they were among the tribes who took Germany from the Celts.)
