Islamic Textbooks in North America: Abu Ameenah Bilal Philips

Hat tip Campus Watch and JTA

Islamic scholar and  author Abu Ameenah Bilil Philips (above) is not exactly a model of tolerance. He has apparently found himself persona non grata in several countries. For one thing, he is noted for his belief that gays should receive the death penalty. So it is troublesome to find some Islamic schools pushing his agenda in the US.

When I saw this article, I knew that name rang a bell. Sure enough, Philips was featured in a  posting from 2011 when he was deported from Germany.

Jamaica, Canada, Qatar, wherever he is living now, I hope it is far far away from the US.
