Hat tip The College Fix
Recently, UC Irvine has drawn public criticism for a newly-instituted program by which climate change material would be incorporated into courses that have nothing to do with the issue. When I (an ESL teacher at UCI) inquired about it, I was informed that climate change could easily be embedded into an English class. (I declined to pursue the program.)
So it is at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where a Spanish teacher has inserted his own political agenda into his classes. This, however, goes much further.
Note to Mr Brown: Teach Spanish like I teach English. You have no right to shove your personal beliefs down the throats of your students, explicitly or implicitly. It is unprofessional, and it is wrong.
