Common Core

My friend David Whitley has posted comments about Common Core along with a video presentation by Dr Duke Pesta, who is quite critical of Common Core.

If there are two things I oppose in education, it is central control out of Washington and indoctrination.

I'm opposed to standardized testing, and dubious about pinning any curriculum down to empirical flow charts, but the hoopla about Common Core is absurd. Over several years, on the initiative of state superintendents, supported by state governors, this curriculum was developed, and then when it was released, a pack of raving obsessive lunatics called it a federal takeover of education.
