Anybody Want to Meet James Taylor? I Sure Don't

This is the latest nonsense I got this morning from Obama's gang, Organizing for Action.

Organizing for Action
Friend --

One of my favorite parts of my job is meeting the grassroots volunteers and supporters who make this work possible. Across the country, our movement is made up of people with inspiring stories. Each one has their own motivating reason for getting involved, and it's always a thrill to connect with them.

One of those supporters happens to be James Taylor.

He's playing a concert in Chicago this summer, and we want you to be there. If meeting James Taylor is on your bucket list, enter OFA's new contest and that chance could be yours.

Add your name, and you'll be automatically entered to win VIP passes to the James Taylor concert in Chicago -- and the chance to meet him after the show.

OFA will pay for a trip to the Windy City for you and a friend, and put you up in a nice hotel.

We work on a lot of issues, from Obamacare to climate change, and the idea motivating all of our work is that the American people matter more than the special interests in Washington. James Taylor gets that. He knows how important it is for each one of us to make our voices heard.

This summer in Chicago, it'll be his voice we're all listening to -- make sure your name is on the list when we draw the winner:

Thanks -- and good luck!

So I sent a response to Sara. It said,

"I could care less if I meet or hear James Taylor. What's he gonna do-sing, "You've got a friend"? Lotta good that did in Paris.

I've gotten one of those. I could tell by the subject line. I delete all emails from Sara Al-Amin without reading them.

The only reason I don't unsubscribe is occasionally I like to post these stupid missives. Interesting how a lame duck president is still leading a movement.

I stopped donating to "Obama for America" when he turned the organization over to the Democratic National Committee, an organization I never donate to.

By the way, you are (in typical GOP fashion) misusing the term "lame duck." It does not refer to a president who is serving his last term (why not call Ronald Reagan a lame duck in March 1985?)

It refers to a president who has lost a bid for re-election, but, although rejected by the voters, has not yet left office. It covers, at most, November after the first Tuesday, December, and January up until noon on the 20th.

OK. I misused the term, lame duck". My point still stands

Actually, it falls for lack of a foundation. Your sentiment still stands.
