California Republican Party Sighting

Hat tip OC Tea Party Blog and David

California Republicans at the Marriott Hotel bar

Shock of shocks!! There actually is a Republican party in the Peoples Republic of California.

Well, sort of.

They actually held a convention as reported by the Orange County Tea Party. Surprisingly, it was held at the Anaheim Marriot-as opposed to the Anaheim Motel 6.

But it is what they did with their "platform" that has raised the eyebrows and the hackles of the OC Tea Party.

http://octeapartyblog.com/2015/09/29/the-insanity-of-the-tea-party-to-aid-the-ca-gop-in-changing-their-immigration-platform-what-were-they-thinking/

CHANGES MADE IN PLATFORM ON IMMIGRATION COMPARED TO PREVIOUS PLATFORM.
1.) The term illegal aliens was removed and replaced in two different areas with the termundocumented.”
2.) The liberal phrase “living in the shadows” was added. (Anyone who drives past a Home Depot or has gone to the DMV where these folks are issued Drivers Licenses knows how ridiculous and untrue that phrase is.)
3.) Removed from new platform: “… Allowing illegal immigrants to remain in California undermines the respect for the law.
4.) This phrase was also removed: “We call for the the cross-deputization of state and county law enforcement personal so that illegal aliens who are also criminals can be deported immediately upon completion of their sentences.” (Replaced with general statements about being against sanctuary cities.)
5.) New platform states: Republicans hold diverse views on this issue. (Defeats the purpose of a platform and signals disunity in the party by stating this. The whole idea of platform is to outline what all Republicans believe in and the values that we all share. This statement contridicts that.)
6.) A very watered down statement on assimilation! This was removed: We should grant citizenship only to those who embrace American values and culture. New immigrants should be required to learn english. (Also removed was the mention of employers to require their employees to learn english. New platform only talks about how immigrants should learn in english in a vague general sense)
7.) Removed any mention of government documents, including ballots, to be printed in english.
8.) As stated before, no mention of enforcing our laws against those who knowingly hire illegals. This was removed: There will be heavy monetary fines levied against employers and businesses who knowingly hire illegal immigrants.
9.) A Prop. 187 type portion of platform was removed: We call on the Federal Government to reimburse California for the costs of federally mandated immigration programs and federally mandated benefits to illegal aliens. Finally, we call for the termination of all federal and state benefits to illegal aliens other than emergency medical care.
10.) No real solid proposal to build a wall or border fence, or no specific proposal to seal our southern border. No mention to re-authrorize funding for the Republican passed border fence act from 2006. There is just vague references about the need to secure our border. (In fairness, the 2011 platform didn’t address this specifically either.)

Somalis in Maine Demand Their Welfare

Hatem Bazian and Omar Barghouti Team Up For Another Sideshow at UC Berkeley

Hat tip Campus Watch and Frontpage Magazine

"There is a lid for every pot."
-Confucius

Cinnamon Stillwell has a piece in Frontpage Magazine reporting on the latest sideshow at UC Berkeley. This one featured professor ( I use that word lightly) Hatem Bazian and Omar the Ingrate Barghouti. Now this is a pair! The latter is the delightful lad who was reportedly (he doesn't like to say where he was born) born in Qatar and raised in Egypt before he obtained his higher education in the US and at Tel Aviv University in Israel. That's why I call him an ingrate. He is making his entire life and livelihood by traveling around the world trashing Israel and promoting his boycott campaign (BDS) against the Jewish state-where he was educated. Bazian is his alter ego.-a guy who immigrated here from the West Bank, got his higher education here, and has called for an intifada in the US. That makes two ingrates.

But you don't want to read what I write. You want to read Cinnamon's report, so here it is:

http://www.frontpagemag.com/fpm/260280/berkeley-bazian-and-barghouti-promote-bds-cinnamon-stillwell

How odd (and hypocritical) that Barghouti attacks Israeli universities considering he got an advanced degree from TAU.

And this circus was co-sponsored by UCB's Department of Near Eastern Studies? Shock and dismay!

Let's be frank here. UC Berkeley is a joke-just as the city of Berkeley and its city leaders is a joke. The university is run by a feckless guy named Nicolas Dirks, who is always wringing his hands at the lack of civil discourse on campus but hasn't a clue as how to make it a better place. It's the inmates like Bazian who run the joint up there in Beserkly. He is the co-founder not only of SJP and AMP, but Zaytuna College and the-get this- Islamophobia Research and Documentation Center at UCB (Barrows Hall room 638). Both of these "institutions" are run out of broom closets, the former in a teacher's office big enough for one or two people and a desk and the latter using rented space in an off-site building.

But what the Hell. It's just a grain of sand in the giant mess that passes for education in the US.

In Germany, Refugees Brawl--Over Religion

Hat tip Vlad Tepes

In a refugee camp in Kassel, Germany, police are called to break up brawls between refugees. The main cause? Religious differences. This results, naturally, in police being injured. Vlad Tepes has a German news report with English sub-titles. Also note the high proportion of young males among the refugees.

Europeans Turn Out to Protest Muslim Invasion

Hat tip Eagle Rising and Bare Naked Islam

The Europeans-at least the man on the street- and especially the East Europeans are telling their leaders that they do not want millions of Muslims coming into their lands.

http://eaglerising.com/24433/all-of-europe-turns-out-to-protest-against-the-muslim-invaders/

You can dismiss this as anti-immigrant bigotry if you will, but consider this: Why would we or anybody else want to import the violence, the hate and the refusal to assimilate? Western European countries are reeling from the presence of a hostile immigrant population that refuses to assimilate and respect the values and culture of the countries they are settling in. Crime is out of control and the ever present danger of ISIS terrorists exists. The very social fabric of places like France is being ripped apart.

Also consider the fact that aside from the refugee camps that are situated in Lebanon, Jordan and Turkey, the Arab world is not offering to accept any of their own Arab/Muslim brethren. They insist that the West bear the burden. Does that make sense? It is great to be compassionate, but not when it entails suicide.

The refugee camps should remain in the Middle East. The West can provide support and aid. But when the day comes that places like Syria, Iraq and Libya are (hopefully) freed from ISIS control, these people should return and help rebuild their own countries. The West simply cannot absorb them.

Obama Gets Tough on Illegals-Guess Which Ones

Well, it's great to see that the Obama administration is finally getting serious about cracking down on illegal aliens. Zero tolerance, no mercy, no breaks, no Dreamers, no nothin'.

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2015/09/30/iraqi-christians-denied-asylum-in-us-facing-looming-expulsion/?intcmp=hpbt3

"A Gatestone Institute report notes that since the start of this year, more than 4,200 Muslims have been admitted into the U.S. from Iraq, but only 727 Christians – making it a ratio of around 5 to 1 – despite the fact that Christians are a heavily targeted “infidel” minority."

Maybe Obama is afraid of what these Christian refugees from the Middle East will tell Americans about the circumstances of their persecution.

State Releasing More Emails Today: Will They Shed Light on Benghazi?

The State Department is releasing more Hillary Clinton emails today, and they reportedly cover the period of the lead-up to the Benghazi attack. In the below Fox news video, former ambassador John Bolton and the ladies of Fox news ask why did nobody in the State Department, White House or National Security Agency tell Mrs Clinton that using a private server to do her  communications was dangerous to national security.

http://video.foxnews.com/v/4521034964001/new-batch-of-clinton-memos-to-cover-lead-up-to-benghazi/?intcmp=hpbt2#sp=show-clips

Think of it. For four years during her tenure, nobody blew the whistle on Mrs Clinton for using a private email server.

Nobody.

*Update: Fox News is reporting that "dozens" of the just-released emails contain classified information.

Long Tall Texans Enforcing Sharia Law

Hat tip Karen Lugo and Daily Caller

Looks like there's a new sheriff in town in Texas. My friend and colleague Karen Lugo sends this disturbing report from the Lone Star State, where sharia law is making inroads.

http://dailycaller.com/2015/09/29/u-s-sharia-tribunals-no-problem/

This is why several states are trying to pass laws where only local or federal laws can be considered. I mean, what's wrong with that?

UC San Diego Celebrates Opening of Undocumented Student Center

UC Irvine Paper Publishes My Response to Professor Who Trashed Our Military

Hat tip New University

Earlier this year, I posted a report on a diatribe against our country and our military that appeared in the campus paper of the University of California at Irvine. It was written by some professor named Chuck O'Connell. As soon as the op-ed appeared, I sent in a response to New University. However, the spring quarter was ending and New University does not operate during the summer quarter.

As a result, I re-submitted my response last week and- lo and behold- it is running in this week's edition.

Let's see where the next shoe drops.

Iranian Official Blames the Jews For the Hajj Stampede

Hat tip Truth Revolt

It had to happen. As the death toll mounts to unbelievable numbers after last week's stampeded at the Mecca pilgrimage (Hajj), a high-ranking Iranian official assigns blame not only on the Saudis, but also on that Zionist state (Israel).

http://www.truthrevolt.org/news/iranian-commander-mecca-stampede-jews-did-it

"Given the usurper Zionist regime's infiltration and influence on the al-Saud, there is a growing possibility that the crane crash incident at the Grand Mosque [which killed over 100 and injured hundreds more two weeks ago] and the death of thousands of people in Mina were the result of deliberate crime.
"Given the eyewitness accounts and the increasing possibility that the two painful and regrettable incidents at the Grand Mosque and Mina have been the result of intentional action, fact-finding groups from all Muslim states have the responsibility to decrypt this al-Saud crime."
And who might that be, General Jazzayeri?

"Hundreds of Jihadists" Have Left US to Join ISIS

Every time I read reports like this, I think back to when that dissembling head of CAIR in Southern California, Hussam Ayloush told us that only a "dozen or so" American Muslims had left the US to join ISIS.

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2015/09/29/congress-us-fails-to-stop-most-people-trying-to-join-isis/?intcmp=hpbt1

For those of you who have not read my reference to Ayloush, here is the report I did  when he spoke at the Islamic Center of Orange County last January. To add insult to injury, he actually compared that number with the "thousands of Jewish American men who had left to join the Israeli Defense Forces 'killing the people of Gaza".

Seems Mr Ayloush is constantly having to update his statistics.

Turkey Day in Sweden

Hat tip Europe News (Germany)

Who says they don't celebrate Thanksgiving in Sweden? Judging by all the Turkish flags, I'm guess they are calling this Turkey Day (September13 in Stockholm). The Swedes must be thankful for all those immigrants who are making their dull country, ahem, more "interesting".

Fox News "Expose" on DEA

Yesterday, I was watching Fox News' Shepherd Smith's show when he had a segment on alleged DEA corruption. His special guest was that daffy Fox anchor, who goes by the moniker of "Kennedy". Below is the Fox "report", with the video and a link to the Office of Professional Responsibility files obtained (2010).

http://insider.foxnews.com/2015/09/28/report-dea-agents-kept-jobs-after-serious-misconduct-including-handing-out-drugs

While watching the segment on TV, as a retired DEA agent, I was hoping to hear some degree of detail about the allegations. Instead, what I saw and heard were broad generalities.

I might note that there seems to be a discrepancy between Smith's statement "since" 2010 and the document which indicates that all the cases cited were in 2010. As far as "dealing drugs" was concerned, there was one case in 2010 where an agent was accused of distributing drugs. The original recommendation was termination, and the final adjudication was a 14-day suspension. I can tell you that had a charge of distribution of drugs been substantiated, termination would have been the final result-as well as prosecution. So there must be more to this case.

In addition, there were two cases of an agent failing a drug test. In both cases the agent concerned resigned.

Of course, DEA is still reeling from allegations of Colombia-based agents participating in sex parties with women allegedly being furnished by drug traffickers. That was one reason that former administrator Michele Leonhart resigned under pressure even though the acts had occurred before she became administrator of DEA.

In summary, it seems to me that Smith and "Kennedy" are overstating their case against DEA. Let me be clear: If agents are engaged in dealing drugs themselves, nobody wants to see them fired and prosecuted more than I do, and I can speak for my fellow agents-past and present on that point.  Yet it seems that there is some over-generalization going on here based on sloppy documentation to make a point that DEA is an agency populated by corrupt agents and administrators-which I do not accept.

As for "Kennedy's" assertion that we can do without DEA and just leave it to state and local cops and the FBI, what are the former going to do when the traffickers they are investigating cross national and international jurisdictions? True, the FBI does have agents assigned to drug investigations, but they have had to cut back on that in favor of investigating terrorism-a wise move in my view. They are in no position to take over the role of DEA.

As for Smith and "Kennedy" they should provide more detail before they go around making blanket conclusions about DEA corruption.

Patrick Condell Blasts the European Union for Admitting the Flood of Muslim "Refugees"

Hat tip Gates of Vienna

Irish pundit Pat Condell explains how the European Union is submitting its populations to suicide at the hands of the Muslim "refugees".

http://gatesofvienna.net/2015/09/inviting-the-entire-muslim-world-to-europe/

And it's not only Europe. Thanks to Obama, they are coming to America as well.

The Hypocrisy of the Arab World

One of the central themes of the pro-Palestinian lobby is the term, Naqba-the catastrophe. It refers to the Arabs who wound up in refugee settlements after the 1948 Arab-Israel war. Of course, Arab historiography neglects to mention the half a million or so Jews driven out of Arab lands as a result of that war. Similarly, the Arab world seems to be blind to the hundreds of thousands of Arabs fleeing civil wars in Iraq, Libya, and Syria. While perfectly happy to watch Europe and the US accept and absorb these refugees, they are unwilling to accept any themselves. (There are refugee camps in Turkey, Jordan and Lebanon, which border Syria, but look for these to be emptied out to the West.) Diane Weber Bederman has an article in the Times of Israel pointing out the hypocrisy of the Arab world when it comes to refugees.

http://blogs.timesofisrael.com/the-naqba-2015/

Why is it that none of our leaders, either Obama or the European leaders, cannot have the courage to tell the Arab world that they should be the first destination for the overwhelming majority of these refugees? Why must it always fall on us?

The Denial of Anti-Semitism in Middle East Studies

Hat tip Campus Watch and History News Network

Campus Watch has cross-posted this piece by Jeffrey Herf in the History News Network, which points out the denial of Arab and Muslim anti-Semitism within the various university Middle East studies departments.

http://www.campus-watch.org/article/id/15095

As Herf writes this timely piece, we see a rapid growth in Middle East studies taught almost exclusively by post colonialist, anti-Western and decidedly anti-Israel faculty. Many of these departments are funded by Saudi Arabia. The latest coming into being is the just announced Yale University Center for the study of Islamic law. This is part of a ten million dollar grant from a Saudi businessman of suspicious background. As a part-time teacher at UC Irvine, I have heard from my sources that there is an effort by a pro-Palestinian professor to set up a Middle East studies department on our campus. Just what UCI needs- an entire department established by someone with a clear agenda.

In short, Middle East studies departments on US campuses are little more than centers of indoctrination. What this has to do with honest research and scholarship is beyond me.

The Legal Case Against Hillary Clinton

Hat tip to George

Ken Cuccinelli is a former Virginia attorney general who was recently defeated in a run for governor as a Republican. In this New York Post op-ed, he outlines why Hillary Clinton has broken the law with her email server as secretary of state.

http://nypost.com/2015/09/27/yes-hillary-clinton-broke-the-law/

I agree with Cuccinelli's assessment of how the FBI will proceed. Depending on their findings in retrieving Clinton's deleted emails, I think they will make an honest recommendation to DOJ. Keep in mind that Justice has (or at least had when I was a DEA agent) a section that handled "sensitive cases". That includes cases involving prominent political figures. Given this particular Justice Department and the White House that controls it, it is hard to predict what they would decide if the FBI brings them a prosecutable case against Mrs. Clinton.

As a political matter, in a perfect world, Clinton has already shown herself to be unfit for the office of president. For 4 years, she mishandled sensitive communications within the DOS. To any informed voter that is a serious matter.

However, we don't live in a perfect world do we? That is why she is still considered, "the leading contender for the Democratic nomination".

Go figure.

Is There Movement on the Jewish Left?

Joel Kotkin has written an interesting op-ed in today's Orange County Register outlining why American Jews may be becoming increasingly alienated from the left. One reason I chose to cross-post it is his mention of anti-Semitism on University of California campuses, a subject with which I am very familiar.

http://www.ocregister.com/articles/jews-684686-jewish-left.html

"The shift toward the Right could also be accelerated by events on America’s college campuses. Anti-Semitism on American college campuses, including those of the University of California, has become ever more evident".

The sheer diversity and fragmentation of the Jewish community defies any solid predictions as to where they may drift politically. I can only hope that Kotkin has seen something here.

Just Who Is Financing Yale's New Center on Islamic law?

Hat tip People's Pundit Daily and Campus Watch

Yesterday, we cross-posted an article from Campus Watch reporting that Yale University had received ten million dollars to establish a Center to study Islamic law (Sharia.) Now we learn some additional facts about the man who is forking out that money. Campus Watch has cross-posted a report from People's Pundit Daily with the very disturbing news.

http://www.campus-watch.org/article/id/15092

Is anybody in charge at Yale? I have passed this story to the Yale Daily News. They apparently did not know.

Cornell President Says Government Should Regulate Speech

Hat tip College Insurrection

"To serve a compelling state interest"

Chalk up newly-installed Cornell President Elizabeth Garrett as one who thinks the government should regulate speech-meaning speech opposed to her "progressive" world view. That's what she said at her inauguration speech and she doubled down on it at a panel featuring a group of like-minded professors. College Insurrection, a blog written by Cornell law professor William Jacobson has the depressing report.

http://collegeinsurrection.com/2015/09/cornell-president-government-should-regulate-speech-to-serve-a-compelling-state-interest/

Here is what the Cornell Review had to say about Garrett.

http://www.thecornellreview.org/cornell-president-says-government-should-regulate-speech-to-serve-a-compelling-state-interest/#comment-2078

I am not a professor-just an adjunct teacher at the University of California at Irvine Extension, but I will interject a comment here. Every dictator from Hitler to Stalin to Mao has uttered similar words as Garrett. This is what the “progressive” left stands for-the stamping out of speech they don’t agree with. Students should be marching demanding her resignation. (But I’m sure they aren’t.)

Syrians Who Are Not Really Syrians

Germany is reporting that about one-third of those "Syrian" refugees are not really Syrians. Another warning sign.

http://www.foxnews.com/world/2015/09/25/germany-says-nearly-third-asylum-seekers-claiming-to-be-syrian-from-elsewhere/

Another point: I am seeing too many pictures like the above where most of the people you see are young men of military age. We are being played for suckers, and our leaders (Europe-America) are not doing their basic duty of protecting us. Mark my word. Europeans and Americans will soon be dying on the streets of our own cities at the hands of these so-called refugees.

Yale Rakes in $10 Million From Saudi to Set Up Islamic Law Center

Hat tip Campus Watch

It's amazing what ten million dollars will buy you in academia. Yale University has just received that sum to establish an Islamic law center. This, of course, is just the latest example of Saudi money corrupting our universities.

http://www.ijreview.com/2015/09/419126-just-prior-to-911-yale-university-announces-10-million-grant-to-fund-an-islamic-law-center/

It also buys you boffo statements like this from the dean of Yale's law school, Robert Post.

“Islamic law has a long and proud tradition, which encompasses great intellectual achievements,"

Yes, like defining a woman's worth and testimony as one-half that of a man. Like hudud sharia, which mandates the death penalty for gays, apostates, adulters and blasphemers. Who wouldn't be proud? That is precisely why, to finish Dean Post's quote, Islamic law is of such great contemporary importance as Islamists worldwide try to bring it to the non-Muslim world while those in the US assure us it is in perfect harmony with the US Constitution. All, this as the world watches in horror as sharia law is actually applied in places like Saudi Arabia, Iran, Pakistan and 50 other Islamic nations-not to mention the newly-created Islamic State. There can be little doubt that this is the same tripe that will be taught at the new Yale Islamic law center. After all, he who foots the bill calls the shots.

Here is how Campus Watch's Cinnamon Stillwell describes it on Facebook

I call hardly wait to see one of their mock trials.

"Good news, mein Fuehrer. We have just given ten million dollars to Yale to establish a Nuremberg law center."

Refugee Resettlement: The Bad News

Ann Corcoran of the Center for Security Policy has some alarming news about the resettlement of refugees in the US. Please watch this video and pass it on.

We have failed to learn our lesson form the 1990s when our government brought in some 90,000 Somalis. The results have not been good. Now comes this wave of largely military-aged young men from Syria and who knows where else? They are flooding Europe, and Obama is planning to bring tens of thousands here to the US. How many will be ISIS terrorists in disguise? How many will be the next Tsarnaev brothers?

Loch Ness Monster Sighting at University of Delaware

Hat tip Daily Caller and The Review

"We hear you. We see you."

The University of Delaware is in turmoil. Somebody saw what they perceived to be nooses hanging from trees on campus. An investigation by campus police ensued. Unfortunately, the student activists and administration got way out ahead of the facts. As it turned out, they were not nooses. They were the remnants of paper lanterns. It made no difference. Racism is alive and well at the University of Delaware, Daily Caller has the story.

http://dailycaller.com/2015/09/25/students-double-down-insist-fake-hate-crime-was-real/

"We are bigger than hate,” said UD vice provost for diversity Carol Henderson, whose claim seems self-evident given the lack of any hate crimes at Delaware. “We hear you. We see you … We need to walk arm in arm with them and say ‘I am concerned because you are concerned.'”

Here is what UDe's campus paper, the Review is reporting on the response.

http://udreview.com/noose-scare-inspires-black-lives-matter-gathering/

It might also be added that the incident coincided with the speaking appearance of Fox News contributor and writer Katie Pavlich on campus, which drew protests from Black Lives Matter.

I don't want to make light of a noose because I am fully aware of its symbolism. Had there actually been nooses on campus, a strong response would be merited.

But there weren't. Nevertheless, the BLM crowd uses it as an excuse to get out and raise the racism issue. Here is my question: What other incidents have happened on campus directed toward black students? If there have been such incidents, they should be handled appropriately. There is a complaint procedure at virtually every university and there is always a paper trail of documented complaints and the results of those complaints.

As for the "noose", it is a false alarm. There is no need to call the fire department. And call off the search party. There was no Loch Ness monster.

"Triggering" at UNC

Hat tip Campus Reform

“This is triggering. This is violence. This is co-optation. This is not okay,” the email continues before closing with a call to “Stay rad (stay rude).”

University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (with Yellow Brick Road)

On the surface, this seems like a very petty issue. Pro-life students use chalk to write pro-life messages on a  campus sidewalk. Pro-abortion students marshal an alert and send their forces to erase the messages. If measured by the number of times I have posted articles about the University of North Carolina recently, you would infer that craziness has taken over Chapel Hill. (Instead of acting like high school students, the offended pro-abortion students are crying victimization and-get this- triggering.

http://www.campusreform.org/?ID=6833

So what is triggering? This is another one of those recently invented terms in academia. If I understand it correctly, it is an act or a word that triggers feelings of victimhood on certain other students.

Did I get that right?

This is the mentality of the left, Folks. This is the mentality of those who rule academia. It is a land of triggering, micro-aggression, macro-aggression, co-optation (whatever that is) and victimhood.

It is the land of Oz.

When my mother was a student at UNC back in the 40s, the little rascals were doing crazy things like swallowing goldfish and seeing how many people they could cram into a telephone booth.

Now everybody is a victim of triggering, aggressions, real or imagined (usually imagined) and needing  of a "safe space" on campus. Yes, that's part of the new lexicon on campus too.

Image result for the cowardly lion
"I need a safe space."

Our universities are breeding a generation of paranoid, insecure, sniveling victims. And these are the future leaders of America? No wonder our country is going down the toilet.

Here is a 4-minute clip of a speech Dr Ben Carson has given at Spring Arbor University in Michigan. In his second point, he takes issue with the recent Supreme Court ruling affirming same sex marriage.

Hillary E-Mails: Judicial Watch Weekly Update

“Well, you know, I was not directly involved in that,” Mrs. Clinton replied. “But everything that she did was approved, under the rules, as they existed, by the State Department.”

I am on the Judicial Watch mailing list, and today I received their weekly update on emails released to them by the State Department in connection with their lawsuit for Hillary Clinton's emails. The latest batch shows that for months Huma Abedin resisted repeated requests from State for her husband, Anthony Weiner's financial statement as part of her hiring process in 2012. They also show that Hillary personally signed the documents necessary for Abedin's hire and that Abedin was double-dipping, drawing a salary from the State Dept at the same time she was drawing a salary from  Teneo, a consulting firm tied to the Clintons.

http://www.judicialwatch.org/press-room/weekly-updates/jw-exposes-hillary-clinton-lie/

Even the pro-Clinton, pro-Democrat New York Times is reporting the story.

http://www.nytimes.com/politics/first-draft/2015/09/24/hillary-clinton-personally-signed-off-on-job-change-for-huma-abedin/

On a related note, Fox News' Ed Henry reported tonight that State has sent emails that they have discovered (as part of their mandated search)  relative to Libya and Benghazi to Trey Gowdy (R-SC), who is chairing the investigative committee on Benghazi. Stay tuned.

This may not be exactly reminiscent of the Beverly Hillbillies, but some comparisons can be drawn. In the former case, we had a family of hillbillies who struck oil on their property, became rich and moved to Beverly Hills-with hysterical results. In the latter, we have people who formerly rode around on camels strike oil, become rich, and move to Beverly Hills. However, in this case, the results are not so funny.

Of course, don't expect to see Majed Abdulaziz al Saud in court or jail. He is probably already back in Riyadh. The only question is what, if any, punishment he will receive there. I'm betting none.

Oh No! Another Hillary Lie Revealed

Another document discovered courtesy of Judicial Watch's Freedom of Information request-another Hillary lie revealed. And once again, it revolves around Huma Abedin.

A German Response to the Catholic Church on the Issue of Refugees

Hat tip Gates of Vienna

“Our prosperity, and our way of living in peace, will change. As refugees had to alter the way they live, so do we have to change our lifestyle. And here we need patience, and we need clarity.”

Gates of Vienna has posted a short video of Beatrix von Storck of Alternative for Germany giving a response to a German Catholic bishop telling Germans that they must adapt their way of life in order to accommodate the refugees. The video is sub-titled in English.

The True Taste of Pakistan

That's what two restaurant owners advertised in their kebab joint in Nottingham, England. Now they have been ordered to pay fines and restitution after some 150 patrons came down with e-coli from fecal infected food. (Hat tip Vlad Tepes)

I think their lawyer should have argued that the owners adequately warned the patrons on the front window.

Gay Rights in Mosul Under the Islamic State

The Christians have escaped Mosul, but it seems not all the gays have gotten out. ISIS has just executed three of them by throwing them off a tall building.

A Former Muslim Says Ben Carson Is Right

Hat tip Frontpage Magazine

Nonie Darwish of Former Muslims United has written an op-ed in Frontpage Magazine defending Ben Carson's recent statements about Islam. She has sent it to me, and I am pleased to cross-post it.

http://www.frontpagemag.com/fpm/260220/why-ben-carson-right-nonie-darwish

As I have already said, Carson has done a public service by bringing this issue into the public discourse. Bobby Jindal has as well and has supported Carson. I would like to see the rest of the Republican candidates support him as well. Anyone who doesn't loses my vote.

Carson's speaking out is evidence that every day, more and more people (both here and in Europe) are learning the truth about this ideology. Hopefully, it will result in a halt to Islamic immigration to the West. As for Europe, they better wake up fast before it is too late.

Hajj Stampede Near Mecca: Over 300 Dead

Once again there has been a stampede leading to mass casualties during the annual hajj (pilgrimage) in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.

http://www.foxnews.com/world/2015/09/24/at-least-150-people-killed-in-saudi-arabia-hajj-stampede/?intcmp=hpbt1

When this happens every few years, one must come to the conclusion that the authorities in Saudi Arabia are doing something wrong. Not that I'm an expert. It's beyond my comprehension.

* Update: The number of dead has risen to at least 717.

I guess that's what happens when you put two million people together in one place. Seems like a bad idea to me. Even the Oktoberfest, with its millions of visitors and drunkenness doesn't experience this.

More Hillary Lies

This past week, Hillary Clinton told Face the Nation's John Dickerson that she turned over her emails to the State Dept. as part of a routine request they sent out to all former secretaries of state.

Right. They were sent back to DOS three months after Congress requested State to turn them over and State discovered that they didn't have them.

The National Journal, hardly a conservative publication, has a scathing piece on Clinton and her brazen dishonesty.

http://www.nationaljournal.com/s/73729/will-pope-wade-into-hills-abortion-debate?mref=scroll

Furthermore, the FBI is now examining (and according to Bloomberg News Service) retrieving emails from Hillary's private server. Bloomberg further reports  that both private and official correspondence has been found. If that is true consider this: If Clinton or her surrogates wiped classified correspondence from that private email server, a crime has been committed.

Panel of "Experts" at UCLA Say, "Give Iran a Chance"

Hat tip Campus Watch

"According to Spiegel, the task before the United States is to achieve a complicated balance wherein its actions signal to Iran that it means business, while restoring the confidence of other regional powers that the U.S. is capable of taking the actions needed to constrain Iran’s ability to build nuclear weapons."

What would you expect from a panel at UCLA co-sponsored by the Center for Near East Studies? Especially when they tell you that we should all give the infamous US-Iran nuke deal a chance.

http://www.campus-watch.org/article/id/15084

Just because Iran is the world's largest state sponsor of international terrorism.

Just because the president of Iran leads mobs in chanting, " Death to America".

Just because we are sending $100 Billion to them so they can finance more terror.

Just because they made a side deal with the IAEA that allows them to do their own inspections at the Parchim facility.

Just because the mullahs swear to wipe Israel off the face of the map.

Just because they are holding three or four of our citizens under trumped up charges.

Just because they shoot down their protesters in the streets.

Just because they persecute religious minorities.

Just because they execute gays.

That all amounts to nothing in the face of these so-called experts at UCLA who pronounce that we must give peace a chance. What could possibly go wrong?

Armstrong Williams Refuses to Buckle to CNN Hosts

Hat tip Creeping Sharia

Conservative commentator Armstrong Williams is currently the business manager for Ben Carson's campaign. In the below posting from Creeping Sharia, you can watch a video where he takes on two talking heads (I'll call them Jack and Jill) from CNN who try to pin him down on Carson's recent statements about not wanting a Muslim in the White House. Williams goes on the offensive.

https://creepingsharia.wordpress.com/2015/09/23/carson-adviser-schools-cnn-hosts-on-islam-video/#comment-206659

I would suggest that Jack and Jill do some research into CAIR before they start quoting them to put Williams and Carson into a corner.

The Fake Clock Incident: Was This a Setup?

Why would anybody be alarmed?

By now we have all heard the story of 14-year-old  Ahmed Mohamed, the Muslim kid in Irving, Texas, who invented his own clock, took it to school and was briefly arrested when school officials were afraid it looked like a bomb. In the ensuing firestorm, President Obama invited him to bring his invention to the White House, CAIR jumped into the middle of it, lawsuits are pending, there are prayer vigils,  and, and....
The show of support comes as Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak hailed Ahmed as a 'modern day hero'

Wait a minute.

It is now being alleged that Mohamed's invention was nothing more than wires removed from an old digital clock and replaced into a pencil box. Furthermore, we are now learning more about Mohamed's father-not from the US media, mind you- rather from the Daily Mail in the UK and now Gallia Watch, a French blog. Seems he is quite the activist. Read on.

http://galliawatch.blogspot.com/2015/09/america-rallies-around-muslim-child.html
(You'll have to scroll down to the story.)

The last thing I want to do is jump on a 14-year-old boy, but if his parents put him up to this for purposes of publicity and lawfare, shame on them. If they wish to proceed with a lawsuit, they should be prepared for a full examination into whether this was some sort of contrived hoax. If it, in fact, was, whoever is responsible should be prosecuted.

As for the actions of the school and Irving police, their number one obligation is to the safety of everybody at that school. I don't know about you, but that contraption could easily be suspected of being a bomb. As to the fact that Ahmed was a Muslim, it is unfortunate if that increased the suspicion, but given the number of Islamic-inspired bombings going on daily around the world-not to mention the Boston Marathon bombing- such fears are well grounded.

Laughable Denial of Bias at UCLA

Hat tip Campus Watch and Daily Bruin

Image result for cinema happy-sad faces

                                  James Gelvin

James Gelvin is a UCLA professor and anti-Israel activist. So when I saw this statement of his in the Daily Bruin denying the obvious anti-Israel bias of his Center for Near Eastern Studies, I almost spit out my Cheerios.

http://www.campus-watch.org/article/id/15083

James Gelvin's stern visage has darkened the pages of Fousesquawk on several occasions. If he thinks the complaints of the AMCHA Initiative's complaints are "fabrications", maybe he thinks our articles are fabrications as well. Like this, for example.

http://garyfouse.blogspot.com/2014/12/more-indoctrination-at-ucla-professor.html

As for UCLA Chancellor Gene Block, he has presided over a campus where bias rules the day over true scholarship. He may try to put a happy face on what goes on at his campus, but he got a first hand look at it last week when he was present at the UC Regents meeting  at UC Irvine as Jewish students told of their experiences dealing with anti-Semitism on UC campuses-including his own.  Just this year, UCLA was embarrassed when Rachel Beyda, a Jewish co-ed, was questioned about her fitness to serve on student government because of her Jewish faith.

That's what happens when you have what passes for scholarship at UCLA. That's what happens when you have entities like UCLA's Center for Near Eastern Studies substituting indoctrination for scholarship.

FBI Reportedly Recovering Hillary's Deleted Emails

The Bloomberg News Service is reporting that according to a source familiar with the investigation, the FBI is recovering emails that had been deleted from Hillary Clinton's private server.

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2015/09/22/fbi-reportedly-recovered-deleted-emails-from-clinton-server/?intcmp=hplnws

It is also reported to Bloomberg that some of the recovered emails appear to contain both private and official information.

If this is true, it would call into question Clinton's March 10 news conference in which she maintained that she only deleted private correspondence from her server.

Guess Who's Going to be the Majority Soon in NJ

Hat tip Gateway Pundit

Why that's Muslims, of course. That's what one Muslim woman told New Jersey school officials when they refused to close school for a Muslim holiday.
http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2015/09/video-muslims-taunt-nj-school-officials-were-going-to-be-the-majority-soon/

It is noted that Muslim kids can have an excused absence during the holiday. When I was in high school, I got caught playing hooky during  a Jewish holiday. My mom refused when I asked her to tell the school I was Jewish. Thus, I had to take my medicine.

Frankly, we are getting tired of these constant demands for accommodation.

What Happens When You Criticize Black Lives Matter at Wesleyan College

Hat tip The College Fix

Iraqi war vet Bryan Stascavage found out when he wrote an op-ed in Wesleyan College's Argus campus newspaper that contained criticism of the Black Lives Matter movement. He specifically referred to the chants of the BLM marchers in St Paul, Minnesota recently when they referred to "pigs in a blanket, fry 'em like bacon". The result is that Wesleyan is in a state of  uproar of sorts. What followed was an example of the intimidation tactics of many BLM groups on college campuses.

http://www.thecollegefix.com/post/24314/

If BLM (the movement) wants to hold honest discussions of what is happening in black communities across the nation, it must not try to dictate the actual discourse and stamp out opposing views.

And what would constitute opposing views?

1 Defending the police and condemning the targeted murderous attacks against them.
2 Pointing out the thousands of black lives lost to murder at the hands of other blacks.
3 Pointing out the hundreds of thousands of black lives killed in the womb every year.
4 Criticizing BLM when it engages in tactics of intimidation.

The administration of Wesleyan rightly stood up for the principle of free speech in this case. How sad it is that too few of their colleagues have the guts to do the same. As a result, the BLM movement is yet another irritant that college students and administrators will have to endure for the next several years.

CAIR is Giving Away Korans

Hat tip Jihad Watch

So CAIR is now giving away more Korans to mark the controversy over Ben Carson saying he would not vote for a Muslim for president (or at least one who wants to follow sharia law). Carson clarified his statement on Fox last night while not backing away from it.

Robert Spencer of Jihad Watch has some suggested passages for those who take CAIR up on their offer.

http://www.jihadwatch.org/2015/09/hamas-linked-cair-announces-quran-giveaway-in-response-to-ben-carsons-remarks

Keep in mind, Dear Reader, that the Koran is not recorded chronologically. It is from longest sura (chapter) to shortest. It is important to know the order of the suras, which is not numerical. The suras recorded during Mohammad's Medina period are the violent, hateful passages while the peaceful passages are the Meccan passages during the time he was preaching in Mecca. Naturally, there are vast contradictions throughout the Koran. According to Islamic scholarship throughout the centuries, contradictions are resolved by the principle of abrogation. In case of contradiction, that which was recorded or revealed to Mohammad later in time abrogates that which was revealed earlier.

The last major sura in time is sura 9. It is arguably the most hateful and violent. It virtually abrogates all the peaceful verses revealed earlier.

I encourage people to get a copy of the Koran-and read it.

UC Santa Barbara Guide on Religion and Homosexuality

Hat tip Campus Reform

                                                                                                  UC Skate Board

The University of California at Santa Barbara is a queer (no pun intended) place which is dominated by students on bikes and skate boards. It has the only known traffic circle for bikes, and pedestrians venture onto campus at their own risk.

Of course, UCSB is also known for other types of silliness. Now the school has come out with a guide aimed primarily at Christians that preaches (no pun intended) that students of faith (specifically Christians) should check their religion at the door when it comes to the question of homosexuality. Campus Reform has the report.

http://www.campusreform.org/?ID=6811

Let me highlight a couple of passages from the link "Homosexuality and Religion"..

"Rejectionism is held mainly by Judeo-Christian denominations that embrace a more fundamental, Biblical interpretation of sexuality. This approach entirely objects to the idea that homosexuals deserve equal rights."

Islam
"There is a great deal of variety in Islam faith regarding homosexuality, mainly due to the fact that Muslims do not have a single, central source of authority (like the Pope, for example). As a polylithic faith, it allows for a diverse range of beliefs. In general, Muslim texts take a much more sex-positive stance than most. Sexuality is first and foremost a mechanism for pleasure, and secondarily a means of reproduction (which is quite the opposite of Catholicism). Intercourse in marriage is considered the highest good of human life. Both polygyny (marriage between a man and multiple wives) and cocubinage (the practice of having a woman who lives with a man but has lower status than his wife) are sanctioned by Islam; even the Prophet Muhammad had several wives. Muslims do not follow celibacy, or refraining from sexual activity until marriage. Contraception is encouraged by law. Muhammad himself support al’azl (the withdrawal method) as a way of enjoying intercourse, though today this is viewed as an outdated method of birth control. Therefore, many within this faith support homosexuality."

So Christianity and Judaism condemn homosexuality while Islam is portrayed as a happy, tolerant faith when it comes to sex. Let's just call it the Thailand of religions.
Never mind that sharia law calls for the death penalty for homosexual acts. No mention of the fact that Iran hangs gays.
And notice the careful wording that says that there is a variety of ideas within Islam regarding homosexuality. It then switches quickly to discussion of sex in general. Islam may be tolerant of pre-marital sex for men, but women who engage such in acts tend to wind up on the wrong end of a few hundred rocks. But then nobody is going to tell Muslims to check their faith at the door.
By all means, nobody should harass or condemn gays for any reason, religion or otherwise. However, the literature being put out by UC Santa Barbara is disingenuous to say the least.
