Just Who Does Control Congress?

Hat tip Breitbart

Kate's Law, Defunding of Sanctuary Cities Flops in Senate

I am no expert on the inner workings of Congress, but I recall not so long ago when President Obama, in his first term, enjoyed Democratic control of both the Senate and the House of Representatives. Remember what the Republicans told us? They said if we could get a majority of Republicans elected into Congress, they would fight Obama and stop his insane policies. Well, first we elected the Republicans into the majority in the House, and nothing changed. Then Republicans gained control of both the House and the Senate.

Nothing has changed.

Yesterday, the Republicans in the Senate tried to pass a bill that would have put Kate's Law into force named after Kate Steinle, who was murdered by an illegal alien in San Francisco who had been deported multiple times, locked up, and released back onto the streets by San Francisco's sanctuary city policy. It would have mandated prison terms for convicted felons who returned to the US after being deported. In addition, there was a provision to defund sanctuary cities. Of course, everybody knew that the Democrats would all vote against it and Obama would veto it, but so what? Let them. Then the people could see where they stood.

Instead, the Democrats wouldn't even let it come to a vote. So what does it mean that Republicans "control" both houses of Congress?

Diddley squat.

No doubt next November (2016) the Republicans will tell us how they need 61 members in the Senate. Then they will stop Obama.

Right.

What's the use?
