The Utter Hypocrisy of the Planned Parenthood Supporters

This article first appeared in Eagle Rising.

Just when you thought that the supporters of Planned Parenthood couldn't be more hypocritical, along comes Cecil the Lion to show just how vapid their positions are. Cecil the Lion is-or was- a beloved attraction in a national wildlife refuge in Zimbabwe. Then an American dentist showed up on a safari, lured Cecil out of his protected space, shot him with a bow and arrow, then finished him off with a rifle. That has sparked a firestorm of outrage-not just in Zimbabwe-but here in the US as well. Meanwhile, the people who are heartbroken over Cecil the Lion could care less about the millions of Cecil the Babies who are being aborted and having their body parts harvested and sold for profit by Planned Parenthood.

Don't get me wrong. I am not defending what this jerk did in Zimbabwe. I am not a hunter and I think what he did was utterly despicable. I wouldn't mind seeing him face Zimbabwean justice myself except I am afraid that might include a public hanging-as some Americans are demanding. It's too bad more people are not concerned about the atrocities being committed by Robert Mugabe, but that's another issue.

Why is it that in most of the American media and in certain circles of US society, Cecil the Lion is getting more attention and sympathy than the victims of Planned Parenthood? Have we become so hardened decades after Roe v Wade that we don't care that some 60 million babies have been killed in the womb-many just as they were about to be delivered whole and healthy-only to be butchered by the forceps and knives of abortion doctors? (Just don't show us the graphic images. That is offensive.)

How is it that now we are having to endure an obnoxious  and increasingly militant "Black Lives Matters" movement that not only ignores the thousands of black lives murdered by black street criminals every year, but also ignores the fact that a huge percentage of aborted babies are black?

Which brings us back to Planned Parenthood. Margaret Sanger, the founder of the predecessor organization to Planned Parenthood, was largely motivated by a desire to see what she considered the "inferior" black population reduced in America. She succeeded.

But if you bring these facts up, the supporters of Planned Parenthood will tell you about the War on Women. Never mind that half of the babies aborted will never grow up to be women. The other half never grow up to be men.

Another thing must be clarified here. The debate about Planned Parenthood is not about overturning Roe v Wade. I am not aware of any bills being introduced in Congress to accomplish that. What is being introduced are bills to defund Planned Parenthood over the fact that the recent videos coming out from the Center for Medical Progress show that laws are being violated. Those who are performing abortions are not allowed to change the abortion procedure in order to preserve and harvest certain tissue, organs or body parts. In addition, they are not supposed to sell them for profit. They can donate them to research labs and/or recoup their expenses, but engaging in sales as shown on the videos is illegal. That is the basis for taking away tax-payer funding (to the tune of half a billion dollars a year.)

As we speak, two courts, one local in California and one federal have issued temporary restraining orders against the Center for Medical Progress releasing more videos. The federal injunction is based on a claim that the abortion providers are being placed at risk by the publicity. The California court, I believe, has to deal with state issues involving secret recordings. I certainly wouldn't advocate any violence against these folks, but just because something brings negative publicity upon you is no justification for suppressing it-unless it is false. As we speak, that dentist is in hiding.

The supporters of Planned Parenthood are throwing up false arguments to defend what should disgust every decent person regardless of what he or she might think about the issue of abortion. Roe v Wade is not at risk here. At question is whether Planned Parenthood and others are violating the law for profit from their grisly trade. How can anyone watch those videos of those heartless abortion providers enjoying their lunch and casually discussing the sales of their butchery and how they can get around the law without asking what kind of a society we have become?

In traditional Chinese culture, "delicious leopard fetus" was considered a prime delicacy for the table of the nobility.

Connect the dots.

You don't see any connections?

Neither do I.
