Bernie Sanders Shoved Aside at Rally by Black Lives Matter Activists

"Mr Irrelevant"

Bernie Sanders. Can you imagine this socialist as president? After today in Seattle, how is this man going convince the voters that he can deal with people like Putin, the Chinese, ISIS or anybody else? Today in Seattle, he was literally shoved off the stage by two women who took over the microphone and lectured a crowd about "black lives matter" while Bernie stood there silently. Is this the strong president America needs?

Whatever happened to, "I paid for this microphone"?

The Seattle Times has video. Sanders acted meekly and shrunk away like a wilted flower.

This man is no leader. He is a weenie, and he proved it today.

At the risk of appearing repetitive, I would note that to the "black lives matter" crowd, they appear to matter only when they are killed by whites, cops or otherwise. Black-on-black homicides occur MUCH more frequently than white-on black ones. Total disconnect and highly illogical, as well as racist in the extreme.

Poor little things. They think they are being original. They are actually treading in the footsteps of the zealous minions of Prairie Fire Organizing Committee (sometimes known as Wither Overground) who used to interrupt rock concerts demanding to read long manifestos from the Weather Underground. The pretext was something like, rock 'n roll is the music of The Revolution and you're not going to enjoy a concert about sex and drugs without a political manifesto. Rock 'n roll was actually the most apolitical music in the history of the world, by origin, and most communists hated it when it first came out.

I don't suppose Sanders was prepared for this, but he should get prepared. Conservatives and liberals alike are sniping that he doesn't have any black or Mexican support, which is probably true being that he is an old white man from Vermont who has spent the last years in the U.S. Senate, and there are lots of ways this could have been handled equally badly, or worse, for his public image.

Ideally he would get a squad of black school teachers, off duty police, and grandmothers to surround the podium in the future, and give these self-righteous juveniles the rebuff they deserve. (No, no switches, words will be enough to melt them). But first he needs to spend some time in churches and schools and Boys and Girls Clubs and barbershops getting to know the adults in those communities where the demographics predominantly reflect African descent.

I believe I caught where Sanders made another speech somewhere (no further details) where the "black lives matter" herd was allowed to open the proceedings at the podium. What a gutless wonder.

Maybe he thought they were a good opening act... especially if they asked him in advance.

Precisely. Yesterday in LA Sanders spoke (in front of 28,000) and opened up with a presentation by someone from Black Lives Matter. This guy is a total wimp.

Newsflash from Gary Fouse: Anyone who thinks black lives matter is a total wimp.

(I know, I know, you will deny that instantly, and it probably does not accurately reflect your heart of hearts. But it reflects your clumsy one liners.)

Siarlys,

I think black lives matter just as much as all other lives.

However, Black Lives Matter is a bunch of thugs.

At any rate, it doesn't matter whether I support a group or don't. Anyone who tries to hijack my speaking appearance is going to be met with resistance and force. There should have been police or security there, and they should have been asked to remove those folks.

Glad you cleared that up. Unfortunately for the quick and easy one-liner, Black Lives Matter covers a multitude of people, from hard working professionals and tradespeople who are genuinely worried that their innocent children will be blithely gunned down by misguided police officers, to parents who worry that their children will be gunned down for minor misdemeanors such as half the human race has committed on their way to growing up (I would guess you committed a few, given your personality and general attitude toward life), to hard core thugs who know that anything which puts the police on the defensive takes some pressure off of them. Now sorting all of that out, takes some hard work, and that's too much to expect from People Who Have An Agenda (including yours).
