Clinton E-Mails: DOS/Intelligence IGs Ask DOJ to Open Criminal Investigation

Hat tip The Blaze and Squid

Is this too good to be true?

Two inspectors-general have asked the Justice Department to open a criminal probe into the email practices of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. The Blaze has a report along with how the New York Times inexplicably edited their lead-in for the story.

Of course, this doesn't mean that the politically-driven Justice Department will initiate an investigation or merely whitewash it.

Although I have not yet been able to hook up the relative timing, the Washington Times reported yesterday that "The Obama administration formally announced that inspectors general will have to get permission from their agency heads to gain access to grand jury, wiretap and fair credit information".

This is interesting since John Kerry said he did not know about the referral. Maybe something involving horses and barn doors??

And the alteration of the story might not be inexplicable at all. Looks like it was done after complaints by the Clintonites/campaign. Media bias.

The news article I read this morning did NOT say anything about asking to open a criminal investigation... although it did say that the inspectors found serious security breaches, and I can't imagine a rational argument to deny that.
